I would agree with all of this, but it does nothing to prove in the slightest that Obama believes the white man caused AIDS, or blacks should be killing whites, or any of the other anti-white untruths people are attributing to Wright. I don't think even Obama questioned that those statements were racist and divisive. He merely said that the man has more context to his life than those combination of 30 second clips. I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say that he went too far with what he said, but that it doesn't make him a bad person (the same goes for Ferraro and others).

The term racist isn't accurate with Rev. Wright. What he is doing in these videos is whining.
What upsets me is that he basically denies and rejects any progress that has been made in the last century.

Obama even acknowledges this as one of the main problems he has with Wright's speeches. Wright blames most of today's woes on the past and present rampant white racism.

Obama feels that the solution to the lingering effects of racism lies in class warfare. It's the evil corporations and rich who are the real enemies. He is simply towing the tired old liberal line of class envy and trying to paste a face of "hope" on it.

Obama's solution is taking more money away from tax-payers and spending it on social projects. He wants more gov't to be the answer to the big questions.

Blaming and punishing the achievers of our country, fostering hatred and resentment of the ones who pull our country along with their risk-taking, capital and hard work- is the worst kind of class warfare pandering.

You're way off the mark here. For me personally, this issue is not at all about defending Obama, it's more that I see racist undertones from the people most critical of wright, and I don't think they are warranted.

And i'm also not, nor have I ever said, that the reverend was a good guy. I don't know him, and I can't make this judgment rationally. What i'm saying is that i haven't seen anything that makes me think he's racist. I don't see how you can claim the clips aren't being taken out of context, ESPECIALLY the way the media has been cutting the "god damn america" to just those 3 words, without the other qualifying statements. It's disgraceful.
