No it isn't.

I live in Berry and I am not honors, nor is my roommate.

I used to be an RA, and I highly recommend Central Campus for freshmen.

- Where most freshmen stay
- Most activities
- Tucker Beach
- Advantage point to anywhere on campus
- Most sociable atmosphere
- Better living conditions than most other dorms
- Tucker/Owen are best, Tri-Towers come after those two

*I was an RA & lived at Avent Ferry Complex as a freshman. It's not a good dorm for freshmen. We partied like hell, and I absolutely loved it, but there was a group of about 20 friends, so that's what made it great. If you don't have that, AFC sucks.

Lived in Sullivan my freshman year (granted this was Way Back When in '98-'99), and while it was OK then, I would no longer recommend it. Now that all dorms have A/C, there's no good reason to choose Sullivan; *tiny* rooms. Among the smallest on campus. I lived there because of the A/C and because it was the honors dorm at the time. For a west campus choice, Bragaw would be the way to go, avoid Lee and Sullivan.

East campus seems best to me nowadays...attractive, older buildings with bigger rooms. I had a friend who lived in a corner room in Gold and it was HUGE. Hall-style is probably better too, all things considered.

Central campus I would say avoid the tri-towers, again the rooms are quite small, the elevators can be flaky and they're suite-style. Tucker and Owen would be good if you can get in without being First Year College. Turlington/Alexander have their own programs as mentioned (Global Village, Arts Village) but could be quite interesting.

Wood is too far away from everything, meaning Avent Ferry is too far away and then some. North is primarly African-American from what I've heard, but if you're OK with that, the location is very convenient to classes, not so much to dining halls.

the Alexander International dorm! (you dont have to be international) It's conveniently located to main campus, a C-store, right across the street from the gym and rec center, a walk away from Talley student center, and you get to meet amazing people from all over the world! 'Nuff said?

Haha, Metcalf.

Enjoy your tiny little coffin space! You're about to get very creative with room organization.

I got into Wolf Village my first semester here, and have it locked up for the remainder of my time here.

WASTE
OF
MONEY

if you do the math and compare it with real apartments, you're paying the equivalent of $500+ a month and getting so much less for it

for a 4 bedroom apartment comparable in size and amenities to Wolf Village (no dishwasher wtf?!) you'd probably only pay mid-$300s max

Alexander Hall, really neat place where you can interact with people from all over the world. Oh and not to mention the fact that you can drink there too, always a plus!! besides, its on central campus which is the most convenient place to be.

yeah wolf village is nice, but it is a massive waste of money. you're getting ripped off. i lived there last year and i'm living there this year though, because
1. its nice as hell
2. close to everything
3. loans will not pay for off-campus

put it this way though: i'm moving into a house next summer. 4 bedroom and paying 400 a month. Wolf Village is way too fuckin expensive. but its sweet. so there.

freshmen year- sullivan....quiet though I did meet a lot of girls
sophomore year-bragaw...4th floor in the corner biggest room on campus;however, lived with an RA so not as fun

Overall though as long as you stop to talk in the dining hall or are just not super shy you are going to meet plenty of people at least the first few weeks.
