Nashville is on notice. I'll have my eye on Philly tomorrow.

at this rate they look better than the preds and the wings

wings are playin not so bad... but arent strong finishing any of their opportunities...

if this keeps up,,, look for another one of our postseason cHoKeS

Eh, this round will be a good warmup for them. I don't think the Predators are much of a threat.

i hope not, i really dont know much about them... they definitely don't look strong

i agree with melrose though... san jose is the scary team,,, even though they got beat pretty squarely already in game 1

IMO there are 7 juggernaut teams in the West and then a huge dropoff. Nashville happened to be the best of the remaining teams by way of a Vancouver late season collapse.

The 2nd goal for the redwings tonight was freakin frustrating... very blatant uncalled hook by the guy who "miraculously" got open for the shot.

the announcers even pointed it out.

and if thats the gwg, fuck it man.

I'm drunk, but not drunk enough to forget that I saw NOTRE DAME beat Michigan in overtime. The first 4 seed to advance to the Frozen Four, so I guess that means the first 4 seed to advance to the final

No, but I have to get 4 next to each-other, and those seats suck balls. It would have cost me $200 a seat for decent seats, and I'd have to pay for at least 2. I'll get tickets if it goes to 5 games for the 5th, those seats aren't on sale yet.

We were raised
With the stick
And a pair of blades
On the ice we cut our teeth
We took our knocks
In the penalty box
Our mother was the referee

This sport was here
Before we came
It will be here when we're gone
The game's in our blood
And our blood's in the game
Lay us down under
A frozen pond

We will fight to the end
We will stand and defend
Our flag flying high and free
We were born the child
Of the strong and Wild
In the State, the State of Hockey

A big blue line runs around our state
A line that can't be crossed
The day they try to take this game
Is the day the gloves come off

We will fight to the end
We will stand and defend
Our flag flying high and free
We were born the child
Of the strong and Wild
In the State, the State of Hockey.

Reason #1,389 why the Stanley Cup Playoffs is the best thing in sports - Patrick Thoresen SACRIFICED A TESTICLE to block a slapshot.

(the Capitals still ended up scoring the game tying goal while he was down)

i am getting the same feeling about ovechkin as i have about hansbrough

he's really good, i'd love it if he was on our team, i hate him because he's not, and i'm sick of announcers talking about his will

there are shades of that, but here's the thing

college basketball doesn't need a savior

hockey kinda does

and that's about the only good thing about the hurricanes not being in the playoffs

even if i don't really want them there, i can sort of cheer for the teams that will create ratings and interest and whatnot

wings vs capitals/new york final would do pretty well

i don't care about ratings as much as pure visibility

the happy dude who hits and scores and takes pies in the face during postgame interviews and asks reporters if they wants some chips during the all-star game is nothing if not visible

the funny thing is, as a pens fan, i never understood why everyone was so sick of crosby everywhere, i knew he was a poster boy but i didn't see why so many people hated him

and then crosby got hurt, and ovechkin filled his role, and now i see what the nhl did there

actually ovie as better at this role.

You gotta feel for Thoresen. He blocks a shot with the family jewels, and his team still gives up the game tying goal.

Ovechkin is on an entirely different level, but Philly's defense more or less handed him that one.

Every time he's on the ice and the Caps score, he acts like he's never scored before in his life
