There's not a whole ruddy lot I can do about it. I've got work until at least 11:30 or so, and one of my buddies who has been gone in the navy for months comes to Raleigh that night. I didn't know either of these things when I initially suggested the summit or even when I agreed to this Friday.

Like I say, I'll do my best, even if it's a brief visit.

If you showed up at 9:30 you should have found Gamecat there. I arrived not long after and about 20 mins later GoldieO showed up. We had some very pleasant discussions. It certainly wasn't the "Bash Bushfest" that the nay-sayers feared it might be. It would still be nice to meet some of you peeps.

i agree that the next event needs to be better coordinated bc i too had problems distinguishing wolfwebbers from normal people until i used my alumni powers to walk across the street to DH Hill and figure out who people were. and i could have used some conservative backup bc i got a mental beat down by two hippies from cary.

Oh no!!! I feel bad now. I thought that we had a very vibrant discussion. Gamecat can be a little abrasive but I guess since I have known the guy for 11+ years I have gotten used to him. I sincerely apologize if I did anything to make you feel uncomfortable. I just get passionate about the environment but I completely and totally respect your views and ideas.

You did hit on a key point though. I, too, would have liked more folks of your thinking to have attended if for no other reason but to bounce my tree-hugger ideas off of.

If i still lived in Raleigh, I would go. For the enviornment thing, the biggest conern right now is "global warming".

Hippys acknowledge that this is happening because of mankinds "destructive" pressense.

While that is one theory (note its a theory, and has not been disproven...therefore it is still a possiblility), it is certinally not fact as it...which is how its being presented to the public.

Geological shifts happen....the ice age happened.....the global climate then shifted to our current temperate environment. Europe had a min ice age just a few hundred years ago. Were either of these caused by mankind? I doubt it......Were Hurricanes prevalent before the early 1900s...sure they were.

The part where we all agree is that we need to prepare ourselves for the future. Since the hypothesis of global warming being caused by man is a serious thought, we all want to go greener....were not going to wait for a proof positive, we need to make the necessary changes now.
