we got there around 7 and ate breakfast while sitting at a table outside, it was rather pleasant. I was happy with the turn out and efficiency of getting the tickets out. LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN.

we were at a table right outside as well. we probably got there around 6:45, which was completely unnecessary. but at least while out we went and voted.

I wish I could have gotten off work this morning to get some but no avail. Only after 5 could it happen.

I have no idea if tickets are available, but I would say you have a very good chance if you go now. There seemed to be plenty to go around this morning. There were maybe 50-100 people in line at 830. I was the guy in the blue polo at the table inside.

Also, I noticed the ticket said Ticket Required. Admission First Come First Serve. I wonder if we are going to have to get there early to make sure we get in.

I showed up at the Durham Bulls Park at 8:30... I was in the first 10 in line.

I had my tickets and in my car going to work by 9:05.

The Planetarium supposedly had 500+ people, but it sounds like none of us had trouble at the Morning Times or the DAP.

Are they "overselling" this show, since the tix still say "first come, first serve"?

God damnit... so we waited in one line and now have to pray we get into the show, period.

Jeez. That's sort of deflating if that's the case.

Hit the Morning Times at 8:30 (was eerie the number of people I recognized), and then we immediately drove to Graham to get tickets to the Greensboro show.

Carpool offer remains open for anyone going to the Greensboro show.

yes. they probably have TONS of tickets. definitely "overselling" (or over handing out since it isn't selling). thats why it says first come first serve on it + ticket required. i'd defintely get there early. i'm planning on it!!

If the weather is nice, I won't mind going early. I work in a cube all day, so seeing any daylight whatsoever is a good time for me.

So.. what fucking time is it going to be neccessary to get out there next week? I know they're letting folks in at 1 pm ---- I hadn't planned on getting there until a little after 12 pm.

I kind of doubt it's gonna be a huge issue. I'll probably get there at like 12:45 or something.

have arcade fire been touring lately? I thought after last fall (awesome in columbus OH w/ LCD soundsystem) they were done for awhile.

will they have the organ/neon bible/video screen/craziness setup on that stage? seems unlikely.
I don't even know if we should expect a full-length show, or just a few songs apiece and some videos about obama. anyone have any idea what's going down? my friend who is an intern at Merge doesn't even know too much

^I assume just a few songs, but I'm getting really excited about it

and I feel so bad for the chick manning the booth at the Mornings Times. I got my ticket around 11:45 and she said that no one had talked to her for a while before that

Here are the setlists from their Obama rally shows in Ohio. They were the only band for those shows, but they also played 2 shows each day, so who knows what it will be like here.

March 2nd, 2008 - Stuart's Opera House, Nelsonville, OH
SHOW 1:
Intervention, Keep The Car Running, Heroes [David Bowie cover], A Change Is Gonna Come [Sam Cooke cover], Rebellion (Lies), Neighborhood #3 (Power Out), Wake Up
Encore: Gimme Some Truth (John Lennon cover)

SHOW 2:
Heroes [David Bowie cover], (Antichrist Television Blues), Neighborhood #2 (Laika), Gimme Some Truth [John Lennon cover], Wake Up, Rebellion (Lies)
Encore: A Change Is Gonna Come [Sam Cooke cover]

March 3rd, 2008 - Beachland Ballroom, Cleveland, OH
SHOW 1:
Heroes [David Bowie Cover], Intervention, Gimmie Some Truth [John Lennon Cover], No Cars Go, Neighborhood #3 (Power Out), Rebellion (Lies), Wake Up
Encore: Change Is Gonna Come [Sam Cooke Cover]

SHOW 2:
Intervention, (Antichrist Television Blues), Gimmie Some Change [John Lennon Cover], A Change Is Gonna Come [Sam Cooke Cover], Rebellion (Lies), Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)
Encore: Wake Up

Got my tickets to the Carrboro show and to another Obama rally coming up in Chapel Hill. My ears are still ringing a little from the recent Anti-flag concert in Carrboro. Luckily I'll be able to walk to this show from where I work.

I've heard a lot of rumors about how this place is impossible to fence in, so it's going to be difficult to only allow those in with tickets (not to mention it's been over-distributed, of course).

This makes me worry about my original plan to show up at noon after working a half day.

just saying, hundreds upon hundreds of barely-able-to-vote kids are going to be arriving at 9am to assure they get seats.

could put a damper on your plans.
