its not feasible to do in a short period of time.

the rest of the world is not going to do it for 100+ years, why should we put ourselves at such and economic disadvantage?

i dont believe in the whole peak oil theory.

when we actually start to run out of oil then those huge companies will develop something else.

if THEY were afraid of running out of the product they sell dont you think they would be worried right now like you?

um, we kind of are in a position to SET TRENDS in the world. Besides the rest of the world is half the problem with oil.

And, no the oil companies are not worried because they are too busy spending your money.

where did i say i was worried about running out? i guess its right next to where i said the government should step in.

all i said is that it will run out at some point.

im more concerned with the competition aspect. something i thought i had made clear. id rather pay high prices in the short term for a more competitive market in the future.

i disagree. sweden is working to become fossil fuel free by 2020. i dont think we (america) could do it that quickly, but it shows that there are alternatives out there.

im all for competition as well.

but its not realistic to rob peter to pay paul so to speak.

if your theory was correct, then why didnt the 80's produce anything except small 4 cylinder cars?

Same station is now $3.98. Seriously, WTF is going on? 20 cents in less than 3 days. One of the stations I drive past every day is even up to $4.05.

Is that for Premium?

Lowest regular I've seen is 3.83 around here and 4.04 is the lowest premium I've seen in 2 weeks.

I spend about $40 every 5 or 6 work days on gas... not too bad. My round trip is about 40 miles for work but it's pretty much all stop and go
