the point is, he owns tens of thousands of acres, that appreciate every day, he grows timber on them, he gets income from hunting leases, all the while letting the property gain value, when any of those properties reach their peak value, he sells them


having that is money in the bank, it's no different than owning houses for investment

^^^^well by "peak" I mean, the property has been pretty much encroached by a city or town and it's best to sell it, so he logs it and gets paid, then gets the nice price due to the demand of the land
