I'm getting encouraged not to shower now
should I slap on some tea tree oil and gargle instead? 5/6/2008 12:17:04 PM |

tea tree oil is awesome it is astringent so the skin doesn't break out and it smells like Australian lighter fluid so you reek above your reek 5/6/2008 12:18:38 PM |

I shower every day, or sometimes twice if I work out.
However, after reading this thread maybe I'll give not showering every day a shot. My face is always too dry in the morning after showers.
That being said I still will need showers when hungover the morning after and when I'm suffering from a cold/sick. 5/6/2008 12:40:07 PM |

My brother used to shower twice a day, trying to get rid of his acne.
Finally, he calmed that down, and now his face is clearing up.
There's really no need to shower more than once every two or three days, unless you have a rash or are all sweaty or something of that such. 5/6/2008 12:41:25 PM |

I wish I could not wash my hair every day because I know deep down that it's better that way. But every time I think about trying to do it every other day, by the beginning of the second day it's driving me nuts and I have to wash it. 5/6/2008 1:01:36 PM |

speaking of dogs, how often do people wash their dogs?
Personally, he's only gotten baths after getting all dirty outside. So in 1 1/2 yrs of ownership maybe 4-5 baths. 5/6/2008 1:43:01 PM |

I shower daily because it helps keep my sheets and pillow cases cleaner for a longer time. 5/6/2008 1:48:26 PM |

Usually every day, unless I'm doing absolutely nothing one day, then I might skip it.
Sometimes I'll shower more than once a day, but it has nothing to do with cleanliness, I just love standing in a hot shower.
And if I work out it's usually in the morning, so I just wait to shower until after I work out. 5/6/2008 1:50:46 PM |

Usually every morning...helps me to wake up Sometimes if I work out in the evening and shower afterward, I'll go without the next morning. But if I do that when my hair is getting long, it's positively impossible to control. Gets all wavy, flips up at the edges, generally a mess. (Of course when it's starting to do that I should just go get a haircut, but I'm cheap...) 5/6/2008 2:15:45 PM |

I use a low flow showerhead and never turn the water up full blast. I even use the temporary cutoff when soaping up. I bet I still use less water per week than your stank ass.

i'm too greasy to not shower every day. my scalp is definitely definitely absolutely too oily to not wash my hair every day, even though it's really really short. it comes from my dad's side of the family.
it blows my mind that there are people with skin dry enough that they do more harm than good if they bathe everyday. i understand that these ppl exist but wtf.
i spend no longer than necessary in the shower (i take shorter showers than Fumbler )and i don't turn the water all the way up. my house has insane water pressure.
my dogs get baths about once a month in the summer (bc they swim in the ocean a lot), every couple of months in the winter. one of my dogs has very dry skin, allergies, and eczema so i have to be careful not to over bathe her in the summer (i use soap free, dye free, fragrance free, everything free dog shampoo on her).

Good job. Most of the low-flow showerheads nowadays don't feel low-flow, so you can save water without any inconvenience.
Also, good job on taking a navy shower, it is the way to go5/7/2008 9:17:46 AM |
