one would hope that you would be able to channel your drive and ambition into your field of work - which hopefully would provide you with a means of earning a decent income/career.

being a waitress doesn't seem to fill that category, unless you were gunning to be a pro waiter in a large city where you could easily clear 60k or more.

i would be disappointed if someone i was attracted to only wanted to be in a service job for the time being with no goals/plan for the future.

the job you have shows how dedicated you are to achieving your goals (if you have any).

if you are a waiter at ruby tuesdays and you are in your late 40's, then you've failed.

i have a thing for smart chicks and philanthropic chicks. if their profession indicates either of those qualities, i tend to be more attracted to them. its not a conscious thing though.

it's not the job so much as how much they enjoy it and how determined they are to be successful at it...and i don't mean financially....i mean they must have a good work ethic and work hard at whatever it is they do"

There are worthless people in every profession. There I said it.

A profession fully composed of worthless people? I dunno.

I would date an exotic dancer before I dated someone in the military.

I don't care what their job is as long as they are motivated, ambitious, and actually care about what they do.

Now, if it were something a little more long term, I would consider their profession in the sense of "will they ever be home" type of thing.

i have noticed that engineers and nurses or engineers and teachers are popular job/relationship combinations.. i guess cuz male dominated professions and female dominated professions would be popular

Pimps and hookers are popular combinations too. You're really on to something.
