I just got this game for the Xbox360 and we played a few songs and I wanted to try the drums with out the kick pedal. I unplugged it but it was still penalizing me for not hitting the kick. So I plugged it back in and now the D-pad doesn't on the drum kit doesn't work right, the kick pedal doesn't work at all, and the yellow pad seems to active the kick occasionally. What's going on?

the bass drum is an essential part of a drum set and if you can't handle it just stick to easy

as for the rest.........i can only say unplug it all, plug it back up like it should be, and stick it back in, reset machine, etc

The only reason I did that is because I've seen setups (demos mostly) that had no kick attached, so I thought perhaps there was an option to play with out it.

there's no pedal on the demos b/c somebody will steal it. there's a no fail mode so if you really dont want to play using the pedal, turn that one.

I noticed on the back it said 20 free songs online, but when I went into the music store there were only a few that were free unless I missed them.

So I think there is actually something wrong with the yellow pad, instead of the kick pedal. Whenever I hit the yellow pad, it registers both the pad and the kick for some reason. However, if I hold down the kick pedal it only registers the yellow pad when I hit the yellow pad. Has anyone ever heard of this?

i'm getting a wii for christmas and i'm wondering what i should do as far as getting rock band or rb2. i can now get the rock band bundle for $99. would it be better to just buy the first one and then buy the rb2 game separately? or is it worth it to wait until the rb2 bundle comes out and pay $189?

The new instruments are vastly superior to the originals. Much more sturdy, more responsive, and wireless. There is no way to compare the two other than the similar way they look.

i have an old rb1 drum set for ps3. my fiance's little brother really wants drums for his ps3 but only has room for the portable variety, which they only make for the 360 as far as i can tell. is there an easy to mod/take apart the set and make it into a portable tabletop kind?? his bday is in april so i've got a couple months to figure this out.

^^I don't think it is possible. They recently added that functionality to the PS3 with the last firmware update, but it has to be patched into games. As far as I know the only game that has done it so far is Resistance 2, but I could be wrong.

Just bought the Franz Ferdinand pack, "Laid to Rest" by Lamb of God, and "C'mon C'mon" by the Von Bondies. Need more MS points and a legit drum set and/or mic for vocals. Headset isn't the best mic for vocals.

i played this for the first time the other day at a friend's house. the drums were pretty fun and surprisingly similar to actually playing real drums. i'm thinking about picking this up, is there a mode where you can just play on the drums without having to play along with a song (ie a cheap electronic drum set?)

QUESTION:

So I just recently got RB2 for PS3 and have been playing a lot with one of my roommates. However we're not terribly far along yet, and haven't unlocked even 1/2 the songs (I don't think). We've just begun unlocking "nightmare" songs. Anyway, we're both big Muse fans so I downloaded "Hysteria".

And low and behold, I can't find it anywhere on the song listing to play in Quickplay or in Tour mode in "make a playlist".

WTF, do so I have to advance further in the game to play the fucking song I bought?!

nope, downloaded song should appear immediately in your library

to make it easier to spot, you can sort by "location" - it divides the on disc songs from the downloaded stuff - by using the bass pedal or the (I think) yellow button on the guitars

Thanks, I'll check that. I know i downloaded it. It deducted from my funds, and when I go back into the "Music Store" it lists that song as "purchased".
