THIS HASH IS: R*n #858 of Sir Walter's Hash House Harriers What's the Word: Full "Hunger" Moon aka No Trail Left Behind Hash When: Sunday, Feb 28, 2010. Meet at 1800 with hares getting off at 1830ish Where: Behind Brickhouse Sports Pub, 3801 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh Hare(s): We Were All Seaman Once, ButtParkingDevice D-erections: Find your way to I-440, take N Carolina 54/Hillsborough St. exit towards Meredith College, take a left towards downtown Raleigh, Brickhouse Sports Pub will be on your right after about 0.4 miles, look behind building for hockey fanatic hashers. Dogz: Not recommended as they will have to stay outside at any stops/on-after. Baby Joggers: To be left behind. Hare Notes: As nobody else stepped up to hare this weekend Seaman and BPD decided to not leave this trail behind. This will likely be a live trail, unless we change our mind. It will be short, or not. It will definitely be dark so bring a flesh err flash light or other illumination device unless you have excellent night vision. If you are planning to watch the Olympic hockey game at 3:15pm why not do so and pre-lube at the Brickhouse Sports Pub which is where the start is. The more beer you buy the hares there before the hash, the shorter the trail will be *hint, hint* ;-) 2/26/2010 10:57:17 AM |

I am someone who normally Carries. As in when I leave my door in the mornings, there is normally a handgun on my hip, or 1-2 on or about my person. I tend to look for interesting groups or activities that I can do while stone sober, and without having to do the transformation into a potential victim that disarming forces. Depending on the type of property the run goes alone, having ANY weapon with me could be legal or illegal, and it is not addressed in the club rules. 2/27/2010 6:35:35 AM |
theDuke866 All American 52839 Posts user info edit post |
Well, the other consideration is that if you drink, it's not just what property the run is on...you're done carrying (concealed) for a while, then. You know the law much better than I do, but you may be able to carry open afterwards (though my personal take is that when alcohol comes out, guns go away, period).
Of course, I think it's a little silly to be unwilling to go unarmed for even a few hours, in what should be a rather safe environment. 2/27/2010 9:04:13 AM |

^^ As someone who carries pretty regularly . . . sometimes you've just gotta let it go man. Not many thugs out there are going to accost a pack of intoxicated hashers. I think you're as safe as you're going to get.
also, experienced hashers, I want to start doing this in Richmond but apparently my command of the English language is not sufficient. To wit, can someone please translate the bolded sections:
Quote : | "When: Sunday FeBREWary 28, 2010 at 3:00 PM

Bring: $5 for trail, a vessel, and a virgin
On-After: TBD" |

That's what I'm saying. There's being prepared, and then there's being enslaved by paranoia. I'm not saying not to carry all the time, whether you think you might need it or not (if you think you might need it, consideration should be given to not being there to begin with).
I'm just saying to go live your life. Not doing things because it would require you to be unarmed for just a little while is crazy, in my opinion. I'd say carry when you reasonably can, but leave it when you have to and go do what you want to do. 2/27/2010 9:14:20 AM |

^^ you don't need a dry change of clothes. Shiggy is nasty stuff you run through, like briars and storm drains. The on-after is where they're going to drink afterward. 2/27/2010 10:30:52 AM |

one, when I go out with folks, I do not drink. two, its less a 'feel a need to' and more of a ' I ALWAYS do item X out of habit' thing. I have been to a hash in another state before, I stuck with water for my drinks. However, they were using parkland for a large part of the run, so I left my stuff locked up in my truck during. 2/28/2010 11:52:58 AM |

You're more than welcome to come out. However, if you're carrying, you will not be received well at all. There is never any reason for anyone to be carrying while hashing. So, just leave it in your vehicle if you decide to come out. 2/28/2010 12:09:17 PM |

THIS HASH IS: R*n #859 of Sir Walter's Hash House Harriers
What's the Word: Grope Her Meat Pocket Hash
When: Sunday, March 7. Meet at 2:00 with pack getting off at 2:30
Where: Rear parking lot of Progress Center, 3200 Highway 54, Durham (between Davis and T.W. Alexander)
Hare(s): Will He Grope Her?, Meat Pocket and Just Scott
D-erections: From Raleigh take 40 West to exit 280 (Davis Drive). Take a left off the exit ramp onto Davis. Follow Davis for about 0.5 mile. Take a right onto 54 and follow it for about 0.5 mile. The entrance to Progress Center will be on your left. From Chapel Hill take 40 East to exit 280 (Davis Drive). Take a left off the exit ramp onto Davis. Follow Davis for about 0.25 miles. Take a right onto 54 and follow it for about 0.5 miles. The entrance to Progress Center will be on your left. There are 2 entrances to the Progress Center. They are about 0.1 miles apart. Either entrance will work – they are both for the same complex. There are 2 rear parking lots in the complex so if you don't see hashers in the one you're in you'll just have to go to the other.
Dogz: Sure, but they will need to be on a leash at certain times since there will be street crossings.
Baby Joggers: Sure. Why not. When was the last time a baby hashed with us anyway?
Hare Notes: Trail will be an off road tour of RTP with a lot of shiggy and wetness. Should be fun. That's all I can think of now. Oh well. Call Groper at 919-621-6659 if you have any questions.
On After: El Dorado Mexican Restaurant on the corner of 54 & 55. Take a left out the Progress Center and follow 54 for about 1.5 miles until you get to 55. Take a left onto 55 and then an immediate right into the shopping center.

Not SWH3, but it's a Raleigh Hash.
Larrikins H3 Presents: St. Patty's Day Green Dress Run
We're doing St. Patrick's day the hashing way, with a green dress trot in downtown Raleigh! Other St. Patty's revelers will marvel at our audacity and envy our festive garb. There will be pub stops, beer breaks, jello shots and liquor stops. This is one hashy dress event you won't want to miss!
Wear: Your best (or worst) green dress
Bring: A virgin. We will have some extra drinking vessels, but if you have one, bring it. Also bring a headlamp or light. Green Condiments would be nice as well.
Hash Cash: $5. Hash cash is increased as there will be some giveaways and more beer/liquor provided on trail.
When: 6:30 happy half hour, hares off around 7
D'Erections: We are meeting behind Shelton's Furniture in Raleigh. If you are on Hillsborough St. heading downtown, turn right on Boylan St. Then, turn left on E. Hargett. Directly at the train tracks, turn left on a gravel road. Park in the grass and look for hashers.
Map Link: http://bit.ly/9BEcpB
Hares: Meat Pocket and Fag in a Bag
Green Dress Prelube: Big Boss hosts its Who's Your Paddy St. Patrick's Day Party. Special brew releases, live music, a potato decorating contest, prizes, food from OnlyBurger and more. Limited edition Big Boss/ St Paddy's day t-shirts on sale. Doors open at 3pm...thanks GR.

THIS HASH IS: R*n #861 of Sir Walter's Hash House Harriers What's the Word: Venereal Equinox Hash When: Sunday, March 21- 2:00 Pre-lube, Hares away 2:15, Pack away 2:30 Where: 401 Umstead Road Chapel Hill, NC Hare(s): Technically Vagina and Mommy Hatchet D-erections: Just mapquest it wankers. If you really need detailed how to's, call TV (cell) 919-619-6242
Dogz: Please leave the four-legged hasher at home due to the numerous candy-ass, yappy, runt dogs off leash in the area. Baby Joggers: Not specified- but if no dogs, then no babies- this is a hunch..... Hare Notes: Cum and celebrate the Vernal Equinox as all good heathen druids might. There will be Good Head (Who said head?) as the hares are giving out blow jobs on trail. There will be two beer stops on trail unless there are three or maybe just one...so don't ask or you'll just piss us off. We will be gifting the one virgin who shows us the best body part with a booby prize (hint hint). We'd pick up his/her hash cash too if it didn't sound too much like prostitution (we have no morals but we do have standards). Bring dry clothes for the On-After at Mill Town in Carrboro (uncounted Belgian beers on tap...up to 12% alcohol...and awesome, awesome bar food). Spring will have sprung, so the bugs may be buggy, the trees may be leafing, and watch out for the copperheads (for real), but there will be fun surprises on trail for unsuspecting hashers. THIS HASH IS: R*n #862 of Sir Walter's Hash House Harriers What's the Word: Full "Sugar" Moon Hash When: Sunday, March 28- Meet 6:30 pack off 7pm Where: "Fancy Pants", Chatham County / Wake County Lines (Think Mega Hash Site, Revisited) Hare(s): Endangered Feces D-erections: Take the hwy 751 exit (exit 274) off of I-40 south towards Jordan Lake. Go about 2.5ish miles and turn left onto O'Kelly Chapel Rd. Go another 2.5 or so miles and turn right onto Yates Store Rd. Go 2.0 miles (straight at stop sign) and then turn right onto Ashdown Forrest. You are now in a sub-divsion. A couple blocks up the road, turn right onto Toms Creek. When Toms Creek comes to a T, turn right onto Bosworth. Park along road or in cul-de-sac at end of Bosworth. O'Kelly Chapel Rd connects to Hwy 55 too, so you can come that way if you want, look at a map.
Dogz: Eh... If you must. Baby Joggers: That'd be a no- baby wankers must be tucked in bed. Hare Notes: "Good old fashioned spring romp through the wilds of Wake & Chatham counties. In the dark, so bring a flashlight. It may rain, so bring warm stuff to wear. The sub-division we're starting in has been under development since the last mega-hash we did, and for the Feb 2008 full moon hash that started there. There are very few new houses being built since we were there last. It seems no one wants to build houses there, since it is in Chatham County and the nearest school is 20 some miles away. That's good for hashing, tho there are new "no trespassing" signs up since I hared here last... So bring cash for bribing the cops please, in addition to a flashlight." Feces is one of those rare and precious souls who has no cell phone. Therefore, if you are lost or have questions, that will be a tuff sh*t, dear hasher. Just re-read the hare note again, and maybe that will help. 3/28/2010 12:59:54 PM |
