DAL gets Roy Williams for a 1st, 3rd and 6th per Adam S.

WOWOWOWOW, they gave up wayyyyyy too much. The Lions do something smart for the first time in a long time.

They're gonna have to start playing with 2 balls in big D.....and have a professional ego stroker on call at all times.

imo its a terrible move, b/c in all likelyhood it's going to take touches away from your best player, barber.

If they gave up ^ those picks, then wow that is horrible Jerry.

Why not trade for another CB since they are all hurt or injured? The offense will be fine.

Jerry Jones is a moron, and is the main reason that team hasn't won a playoff game since 1996

The Lions got 3 draft picks? For that braggart who can't stay healthy and only had 1 good year?

That might be their first good move in 7+ years. I guess the Matt Millen era is truly over.

^^^Yeah right. They have the most talented team in the NFL.

How do you think they got that way, pure luck?

^SS Roy is still hurt, as is Terrence Newman and suspended Adam Jones. 3/4 Secondary starters hurt is NCSU like.

Some would argue Clemson had the most talent in NCAA this year, we see where they are at. Its about chemistry and team unity more than simply talent... Jones contributes every year in making sure that these two concepts arent apparent on his teams and are the reasons they collapse at the end of every season and havent won a playoff game since 1996

^^That at the time was a good deal. Pacman was a proven NFL player....a 4th round pick is iffy at best.

^Collapse? They went 13-3 last year and lost a close game to the Super Bowl Champs who were hot like no other team ever. Hardly a collapse.

i know but they'll still have 2 roy williams' on their roster...now they need to make trades with the colts, chiefs, panthers and giants to get the two (ant)hony gonzalez' and steve smiths

given what they had on paper, what they had done in the regular season etc, yes, definitely collapse

Romo isn't clutch and Wade Phillips is a complete moron

^^Based exactly on what? Or are you just a Cowboys hater like everyone else?

He has started for about 1 full season and parts of two and is like 23-9 as a starter.

^^^lol alongside priv apparently lol.... i guess it shows that the players do not get to watch the games... too bad rivers smoked that pats secondary and romo had better numbers than peyton last year.

^it was some sports illustrated thing they asked the players and i hate the cowboys, but i like romo, he is a great story, just wished he was on another team

he plays for the Dallas Cowboys

i dont mind him as a person, but when somebody puts on one of those uniforms they become like UNC players to me

and i think the overrated argument clearly stems from his 0-2 playoff record

Romo puts up great numbers, but he has some flaws in his game:

- He is careless with the football, particularly in the clutch.
- Until proven otherwise, he's a choker. He's stuck with that label until he wins a playoff game.
- Each of his first 2 seasons he has faded badly down the stretch. Just look at his QB rating in December. Without looking it up... it's bad.
- Part of his production can be attributed to the "TO Effect". TO made McNabb look like an MVP, and made Garcia into a pro-bowler. You have to wonder if Romo could do what he does without the 2nd best receiver in the game.

How come Drew Bledsoe couldn't cut it with T.O.?

Witten has become the best TE too thanks to Romo.

You can view it both ways.

1st, 3rd, 6th and 7th round draft picks.

Steal for the Lions. The 'Boys are mortgaging their future for a shot at the title right now.

NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND

due to 08 draft day trades the Cowboys have an extra 3, 4, and 6th rounder in 09

as part of the PacMan trade
they keep a 6 that would have gone to Tenn had he not gotten suspended
they get Tenn 5 since he got suspended

as part of Roy Williams2 trade
they lose 1,3,6
get 7

so they still have
2,3,4,4,5,5,6,7,7

Cowboys could trade back into Round 1 or 2 if need be. The could also keep the lower cheaper picks to fortify bottom of roster or trade towards 2010 picks. I guarantee all 9 picks that they have won't make the team.

One plays offense and the other plays defense. There's no need to do anything with the jerseys.

He had some nice returns and a few interceptions in Tennessee, but the only thing he's really proven is that he has no self control and doesn't care about the rare opportunity he has with his physical talents to play in the NFL

I don't understand you people's logic who say Jerry is dumb for doing this. In the scope the the trade, Dallas is really only loosing a 1st round pick. With the comp picks and picks from the Titans. And now, with a stable of solid receivers, I'm sure a number of teams would trade a higher pick for Miles Austin or Patrick Creighton.

9 picks in next years draft is still very solid.

dont say b/c romo didnt play was the reason that they sucked

and from what i saw, the oline had another lackluster performance, their defensive backfield is weak and inexperienced, and they straight gave up.

All 4 starters are out in the secondary....that is reason #1 they sucked.

But look at the offense minus Romo.

they are imploding because they insist on being a pass first offense. if they learn to create push with their o-line, Barber & company can raise hell. also, if they become a run first offense, they can allow their defense more rest.

It is odd because the O-Line was really good last year and up until the Arizona game.

Leonard Davis and Flozell Adams are two of the best. Gurode isn't bad and Columbo holds his own....

I can somewhat agree with that....

Phillips is likely to be done after this season the way things are going.

I for one am excited to see what Jason Garrett can do.
