Game looks decent. Same stuff as WoW. Just new.

Yeah, pretty much now it's just doing random quests and learning the lay of things. I'm looking forward to RvR combat. I haven't been able to "jump into it at level 1" like they've been saying. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place?

I've been playing Marauder. They have this bizarre attribute where they can morph their left arm onto a giant spear or whatever. They have three "masteries," one for single target melee DPS, one for AOE melee DPS, and the other for DoT melee DPS.

meh, I find the green skins the only race I can agree with as far as looks go.

all the other races try to go for realizm and that shit never works( at least so far in newb clothes). Stylized orcs ftw.

And the fighting areas seem random as shit for the chaos. OH LOOK THERE IS A GRAVE YARD! GO KILL ZOMBIES!

In case anyone is wondering about minimum stats, I'm running it on an Athlon 64 3200+, 1.5 GB RAM, and an ATI Radeon 9500 Pro. It looks like shit, but I get about 35 fps most of the time.

A64 3800 2 gigs of ram and a 9600 xt ... doesn't lag but it looks pretty terrible. gets sluggish in big pop areas. thinking about upgrading video card

Pretty much the same situation. It runs, but it has a few hiccups here and there. I can't imagine what it's going to look like in a city or anything.

I should be grateful it even runs. This computer is like 4 years old and this is a brand new game.

its pretty damn fun. collision needs work and mana cost on a lot of things needs balancing, but it's pretty fun and so far, more enticing than getting my rogue back into sunwell and my shaman ready for xpac.

there are so many elements of this game that add new depth and sense of community. on top of that there are tons of things put in that really do away with the time sink that wow has become. I mean if I'm paying the say $15/month, why make it so I have to play nonstop to have good pve gear? there's also none of that resilience shit that fucking splintered wow. in wow you've got 2 separate grinds, segregating the 2 key elements of the game. in the past, pvp was the reason to do pve. who else would have done c'thun if there wasn't a DEOI or death's sting? doing pve just to be able to do slightly more gear check, but similar mechanic pve is pretty fucking lame, especially when you can either do a little BT or a shitload of karazhan and get the same stuff. arena is a little different, but it's not really balanced and your gear is only applicable in the arenas. resilience and stupid amounts of stam just drag the match out and make nearly every successful team a product of being really good at drains and prolonging the fight.

wow has become a victim of its community. too many people play and they try to cater to them, but more often than not people are shitty and want what's best for them and not the game. warhammer, just does things much more harmoniously, by making pvp the primary balance of the game, then pve is considerably easier to add in as extra content that adds to the game.

I also enjoy the immersion of WAR much more than wow's cartoony atmosphere.

Buy it off Amazon.com. You get an instant beta key. Then you register on the Warhammer site, download the 10gb file from fileplanet, and play.

It's open this weekend, I think they're going to be collecting bugs for this weekend, fix stuff, and then reopen on the 7th for another beta.

I have the pre-order but still won't let me play yet, I am guessing it is still closed to the pre-order beta people.

Also, no trade skills in this game? I've watched some videos and read and haven't seen anything mentioned regarding that type of thing.

Well that's because they're half fungus and the fungus/algea part is capable of regrowing orks/greenskins from its spores.

They never detail the Ork biology in the fantasy setting (obviously medieval tech wouldn't allow much knowledge about genetics and such anyways.) They do go into a lot more detail about the same race in their scifi setting:

Hm.. i loaded in all my codes for the preorder, my account says that I've accessed the open beta and all. When I load up the game it brings up the Mythic patcher asking for my login and pw, type that in, it loads for a second, then goes back to the login screen. Not sure what I am doing wrong..


After looking at it I am guessing it is because I am trying to play it on my comp and it won't run on the video card. Just seems like an odd spot for the game to not work/load if that is the issue.

I did have a thought that my comp wouldn't run it, just wasn't expecting it to get hung up on the patch login, doesn't seem like the spot that a graphic card issue would hang things up so thinking something else is up. but maybe not. I just want to log in and play the damn game.

Sometimes you have to run the test version and not the actual version of the game to patch, because so many people are trying to patch and the patch is usually a pretty big file...

I've noticed that if I run the test version to patch (only to patch) then it downloads smoothly and more quickly...

Might be because you registered after a certain date. The Open beta starts in 2 weeks though so you don't lose out completely.

I like the RvR setup, and world lay out. Graphics do remind me of WoW of course, but the gameplay is a bit better than I remember for WoW. Now if they just fix the damn warping of NPCs.
