what the fuck are you guys talking about? ucla gets pressure on pinkney? they dont even play. its not who would be who because thats completely objective. I might think ncstate would be southern cal if they played but theres no way to find out and that doesn't mean ncstate is better either. You have to go by body of work and I'm looking for a list of teams with better body of work than ecu.

If ECU does run the table and go undefeated, they better hope that the ACC and WVU turns their seasons around. Because their strength of schedule is so weak in C-USA, that it will not help them get an at-large bid.

Another thing ECU needs to realize is that while they should be excited about their success, it just means Skippy is edging one foot out the door. The Big East is not going to expand to get ECU. My prediction, Steve Spurrier will be canned at USC within the next year or two and they will buy out Skip's contract at ECU. If ECU fans don't think this is a possibility, ask Mack Brown how it worked out for him leaving UNC for Texas.

ECU investigates police actions at game


GREENVILLE, N.C. - Police officials at East Carolina University are investigating reports that officers used excessive force as fans stormed the football field after a Pirate victory.

Witnesses described police hitting fans and throwing some to the ground after the Pirates beat West Virginia on Saturday, The Daily Reflector of Greenville reported Monday.

Video footage showed one officer hitting someone on the ground with his fist.

University police Chief Scott Shelton said investigators are reviewing photos and videotape and interviewing witnesses.

Shelton said in a written statement that police were told if fans tried to come onto the field they should try to deter them by making themselves visible but were to step back if that failed.

"Obviously, the safety of the students, fans and athletes at the game is our first concern," Shelton said. "It is simply unacceptable that anyone at the game is the victim of excessive force."

One alumnus said he was handcuffed and arrested as he ran with friends onto the field.

Matt Ottinger, 27, of Goldsboro, said he was treated roughly by a Kinston police officer. Ottinger said the officer said Ottinger knocked him down. Three officers tackled Ottinger and he was taken to jail, Ottinger said.

"I was just running like everybody else," Ottinger said. He said if he knocked the officer down it was accidental.

Michael Jones of New Bern said he watched from his seat as some officers hit people on the field.

"It was the most repulsive thing I've ever seen," said Jones, who has two children attending the university. "Those kids weren't doing anything wrong."

East Carolina graduate Rachelle Friedman said she saw a student on the ground with an officer's knee in his back.

"This was a huge win for ECU. No one was being dangerous. All (law enforcement) needed to do was organize it," Friedman said.

this was pretty tamed compared to the time NC State game over FSU a few years ago. Students were jumping off the stadium walls to get to the field, trampling over each other. They grabbed the goal posts and were dragging them through the crowds, hitting whoever along the way.

I KNOW CAUSE I WAS THERE AND I GOT HIT.

I was bangin some dumb state coed at the time and I was there secretly hoping to watch state get beat down.
