I had to go to hulu to see the Olbermann spoof. Not bad, although Ben looked like he was about to lose it a couple of times. The Special Comment was freaking hilarious though.

So question who is SNL going to make fun of if/when Obama is elected. They won't have Republicans to pick on.

Seth Myers was on Fresh Air last week, and they talked about that for a bit (just like Jon Stewart has talked about previously) - he said that he's sure they will find things to make fun of, but it's pretty much undeniable, regardless of your political affiliation, that Obama is just not very good joke material. He doesn't have any major features that are easy to jump on - no funny accent, no funny way of talking or moving, doesn't make major mistakes in speeches or interviews, etc. I know people like to dog on SNL, The Daily SHow, Letterman, etc for being too liberal, but they've shown that they have no problem making fun of Al Gore, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats. Obama truly is different from all them, though, and unless he just starts making gaffs left and right, it will be hard to write jokes about him

^x5 Here's Affleck as the douche bag Olbermann:

it's funny that hooksaw probably doesn't realize that conservatives and liberals alike thought the Olbermann spoof was hilarious, because liberals don't seem to mind laughing at themselves when appropriate. Ben Afleck is himself a flaming liberal, and i'm willing to bet Olbermann has seen it and thinks it's funny too.
Somehow, i can't imagine the same reaction if someone picked on poor little conservatives like Rush, O'Reilly or Hannity.

she had her kid a few days ago....the belly doesn't disappear overnight

she had it 9 days ago. I know it doesn't disappear overnight, but seriously - it looked like she was still 9 months pregnant.

McCain didn't really do any jokes..... it was kind of a weird opening

So you wouldn't unfairly accuse me of trolling--yet again--I didn't come back here after my Palin post. But since you decided to be such a douche, I guess I'll have to bitch slap you again.

1. As if Rush, O'Reilly, and Hannity aren't demonized by far-left loons like you on a daily basis.

2. I take issue with your hasty generalization that liberals are so comfortable with satire directed at them and conservatives are not--can you prove this? And if this is the case, why did Olbermann feel the need to storm the SNL set during rehearsals?

Olbermann crashes "SNL" set

Quote :
"Ben Affleck, who's hosting 'Saturday Night Live' this week, was rehearsing a skit this afternoon mocking Keith Olbermann when Olbermann himself got past security to watch, according to a source with knowledge of the incident.

A source described the skit as 'savage,' in portraying Olbermann as a deranged person living at home with his mother. Affleck, said a source, became uneasy with Olbermann in attendance at the 3 p.m., closed-set rehearsal."

http://www.politico.com/blogs/michaelcalderone/1008/Olbermann_crashes_SNL_set_.html

3. And Lorne Michaels--the creator and producer of SNL--said that he gets a lot more grief from Democrats and liberals than he ever does from Republicans and conservatives.

http://www.foxnews.com/video-search/m/21337903/capitol_hill_conquest.htm?pageid=23043

So, why don't you just shut. . .the fuck. . .up, okay?

That was the best acting I've ever seen out of Ben Affleck. Damn funny.

[Edited on November 4, 2008 at 10:59 AM. Reason : <-- liberal, btw.]

^wow, did you read the next 2 paragraphs in the Affleck link? The part where Olbermann says it was a funny skit?
If I was Affleck, I'd be a little uncomfortable with him watching also. Could he get pissed and attack me? Hell yea. Luckily, he kept a cool head and found it funny.

Olbermann has the highest-rated program on MSNBC and Countdown debuted in 2003--and it's the first time he's been mocked? Hmm.

2. Of course Olbermann said he thought the skit was funny--if he didn't, everyone would say he's being a dick about it. So, why did he feel the need to crash the SNL set during rehearsals and cause an "incident" that made Affleck "uneasy"? Answer: Olbermann is a massive douche bag with a mutated spine.

3. And you completely ignored the comments by Lorne Michaels. Typical.

As I indicated. . .

Nowhere does it say he stormed the set. It says he got past security, which means he probably snuck through a back door on 9 to get to 8 and all the sudden he was there. It also doesn't say he was angry, just that Ben Whofleck was uneasy when he saw him show up. Molly Shannon once said she was scared shitless when Courtney Love appeared next to a camera while she was doing a CL bit, but when it was over and the camera cut, Courtney ran up and gave her a hug, laughing hysterically.

olbermann is a good sport and clearly enjoyed the skit.

he even dedicated a segment to it on countdown last night and was nothing but complementary

nice attempt to troll entertainment, AGAIN, old man, but no one's buying it

The thing from last night was pretty lame. They just replayed all the stuff from the more recent episodes and all the clips that are already out there on hulu. I was hoping they would have shown a bit more clips from historical elections, but they got reduced to severely edited commercial bumpers.

I guess it was all about election 2008 though.

No, Mike Huckabee on Fox News to Hannity said that Lorne Micheals said that. There is too much of a likelihood that that has been skewed in some way or even made up.

So now there is nothing left of your "pwnt" post except your childish hostility.
