It was a smoke bomb that was near the middle of the ice.

Ossi Vaanannen picked it up and then realized it was still ignited, tossing it away form him.

It landed on the left side of the Devils boards.

The announcer at the game said "Fans, we don't know who threw that at the Devils bench. But if you point them out, we'll throw 'em out."

Apparently the guy took off as soon as he threw it. Don't think security got him before he got out the door.

It was a good game, no bitterness. We got a point out of it, so I'm not TOO upset, but what upsets me is that the NYR outshot the Pens 18-2 in the 3rd.
