For the first time in a while, I actually had confidence in the bullpen. It's a strange feeling.

boots with the fur

Quote :
"FOX has an exclusive window for all Saturday games taking place prior to 7 pm, meaning only FOX and the local channel can broadcast during that window.

Meanwhile, the Marlins scheduled this Saturday’s game against the Mets for 6 pm, one hour early, to accommodate a post-game concert by Flo Rida.

In other words, from 6 pm to 7 pm on Saturday, the Mets-Marlins game will not be broadcast on SNY; thanks to FOX, MLB, the Marlins, and, apparently, Flo Rida.

The minute the clock strikes 7 pm, SNY will begin broadcasting from whatever inning the Mets and Marlins are in."

If you have MLB.tv you can get around that using a foreign proxy.

http://www.proxy4free.com

It works fine. I've done that for FOX games for years...

So I'm in charlotte and thus blacked out of Nationals, Braves, Reds and Orioles

so using this I can watch all those games and any other regional blackouts, so I can see 162 mets games instead of just like 110 ?

I would be djeternally graterful to you if that were the case

Do you have TWC in Charlotte?

Cause you'll get plenty of Braves and Reds games

yeah i know all too well about the youtube video quality of peachtree tv and fsn ohio

Still, we don't get MASN or SNY

With this trick, I could conceivably hear Gary, Ron and Keith for every game

yeah you could, and you could conceivably watch every game on a computer and not your TV

The thing that sucks about MLB.TV and Extra Innings on cable and satellite is that you have to buy them separate

Conversely, if you buy NBA League Pass through cable, and send them a copy of your cable bill, you can watch all the games online for free

With MLB you have to pay extra...I'll probably do that again this year though

I never miss any game I'm around for with mlb.tv. It's really easy too. I'm not a tech person but using the proxy is a piece of cake in Firefox. I've not had any problems with it. I tested it yesterday to get a locally blacked out A's game and it worked.

And you can choose tv feed, so SNY is always my choice...

[Edited on April 7, 2009 at 3:57 PM. Reason : my cable provider doesn't even OFFER EInnings so this is my ONLY way to watch]

my cable provider just started offering it 1 or 2 years ago...before then I think it was only available on DirectTV...last year I'd have a few games I would flip between on the TV, and have another one streaming on the laptop

also

He only got a 3 year, $36M contract. Lowe's was 5, $60M. Pretty huge difference. I would have preferred Lowe too, but oh well...

We'll be fine and he'll end up around a 4 ERA like the last two years...

[Edited on April 9, 2009 at 4:16 PM. Reason : ^^ haha, his ERA is listed at 16+]

Everything else went well tonight, the bullpen looked fantastic (a good outing from Feliciano, which we needed to see early in the season).

If only Ollie didn't walk so many guys...3 of those runs scored came from walks. If those 3 walks had been outs, Mets win 6-5 (if not by more, because those bad innings would have been over a lot sooner).

I fucking hate playing the Marlins. They are all crappy hitters for average but run into so many solo HRs. Of course it would help if our bats weren't asleep.

Fish will be a .500 team but will kill the Mets... again.

I mean, I don't always agree with the swing for the fences mentality, but I don't see how any baseball fan in this day and age can hate such a low budget low drama team.

Again the Mets were only two pitches too many from winning the game (the two that went over the fence).

I'm really excited about our offense and bullpen but this starting rotation needs to get it together...Johan can't start every game.

Why is it that the Mets seemingly never get to start the season at home? Home starts can create early momentum, just like these Marlins have right now.

"Johan Santana put the collar for his wasted gem here yesterday squarely around the neck of teammate Daniel Murphy. "It was just one mistake that he made, [and it] cost us the whole ballgame," Santana said after his 13 strikeouts went for naught in the Mets' 2-1 afternoon loss to the Marlins and their equally superb starter, Josh Johnson."

Whoops...

2-out BB, Error, single. Way to throw your guy under the bus.

I jokingly said Jody Gerut would be the first to hit a HR in Citi Field when I saw the schedule come out because he fucking KILLED the Mets in a series last year...

I never thought he actually would be the guy though...

My vote for MVP is Emilio Bonafacio. Much like Willie Harris, his season will be made by the 18 or 19 games against the Mets and then he'll go back to tripping over himself and drooling down his chin at the plate against the Phillies...

Quote :
"Nationals center fielder Lastings Milledge has been optioned to Triple-A Syracuse.

Milledge is batting .167 with no extra-base hits, one RBI, one walk and 10 strikeouts this season. He has been hitting in the leadoff spot.

Washington is 0-7, the only team in the major leagues without a victory.

The Nationals did not immediately announce who will replace Milledge on the active roster. They were off Tuesday and scheduled to host Philadelphia on Wednesday.
