I mean his roommate gave a pretty standard account of a lot of college kids." |
moron
Well, it's a fine time to be "digging" now, isn't it? And anyone who examines certain unvarnished areas of Obama's past meets resistance and/or missing basic documents--the fact is that Obama has been elected with much about him left unknown.
Here are two left-wing journalists, Tom Brokaw and Charlie Rose, admitting that they don't know much about Obama:

Look, I'm trying to keep the honeymoon going, but if some of you are going to come here and pretend that Obama was asked the hard questions and significant areas of his life and worldview were thoroughly examined by the MSM, then the honeymoon will soon end. It's a fact that there is much we still don't know about Obama.11/12/2008 1:43:43 AM |

Removed the distortion.
Hell, I can't say I know any more about McCain in that area. What are his views on China?
I heard all I wanted to know about Obama's stance on Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Isreal, and Russia. But foreign policy wasn't a top priority in this election, so the media didn't delve deeper into it with either of them. Plus, it isn't in the nature of the modern press to delve deep into anything, as they pointed out in the video.
I don't know why you think anything unknown about him will be of much consequence. He's already the president. I mean, do think something from his college records could get him impeached?
No, I know it's all part of your (and others) crusade against him and nothing more.

Quote : | "Ytsejam: If he graduated without honors at Columbia, and won't release his grades. How did he get into Harvard Law? That isn't exactly easy. Kinda thinking he doesn't release that info because he knows he got in due to his race, not his performance. That wouldn't have been a huge bombshell, but it wouldn't have helped during the election. Doubt it would have changed the outcome, but it probably would have cost him a few hundred thousand votes. So he might have lost North Carolina and a few other close states." |
Coulda been racial preference. Also coulda been a legacy. His father graduated from Harvard.
Maybe there's a third way we can dismiss his accomplishment.11/12/2008 2:50:25 AM |

Could be a legacy thing... but usually that entails several generations and nice big donations to the school...
And about dismissing accomplishments, I seem to recall everyone dismissing the fact that Bush has an MBA from Harvard.
Either way, it doesn't seem Obama was a great student during his undergrad years, but somehow managed to get into Harvard Law. So it was his race, his father, or ? Either way, it wasn't hard work on his part.
....

Wait, so this system is suppose to let mediocre undergrads into great law schools because of race? Excellent. He slacked off as an undergrad and gets rewarded, great system. If anything, it shows how fucked the system is, since he had no inherit disadvantages in terms of economics and culture like many blacks that such systems are intended to help, however misguided that sort of thing may be.

inherent, not inherit
And I think y'all should start a different thread if you wanna discuss affirmative action. It's difficult to debate such a large issue using one specific example. Y'all should address the trends, not your personal beliefs about Obama's teenage work ethic. 11/12/2008 3:21:59 AM |

just thought of this - one of the bullets aimed at the economic downturn should be a 'Jobs Creation Act' like Bush's - the one where he allowed repatriation of corporations' cash to the US at a huge tax discount.
also just saw this:
