"We don't want to see any kind of Virginia Tech issue happen right here on this campus. It's wrong, it's ugly, it's vile and it's not protected by freedom of speech." Four students have come forward and admitted to spray-painting the racist messages. The school has not released their names. Since the students were not charged with a crime, the NAACP wants the university to take action. N.C. State's Student Senate planned to meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday to discuss passing the "Free Expression Tunnel Hate Crime Act." The graffiti prompted about 500 students to gather last week for a unity rally at the campus brickyard. Barber said they plan to hold another rally sometime next week. The racist graffiti was immediately painted over, but strong emotions remain over the incident. "It was something very inappropriate, and I don't think it represents the campus at all,” student Awma Rinchhuan said. The tunnel is a place where students are encouraged to speak their minds, and there is some sentiment that the incident is getting more attention than it deserves. "It shouldn't be taken to such extreme measures, if they apologized and understand that racism shouldn't be tolerated here,” student Rachelann Braun said."

This was a real opportunity for the university to do some actual teaching for its students.

But, as usual, they took a great big public shit instead. By making the spectacle of painting the tunnel over, issuing the press releases, etc., they have once again cast the university in as negative a light as possible.

Mr. Barber is incorrect in his assertion that the comments spray-painted in the tunnel are not protected by the first amendment. They are, in fact, protected and can be uttered by any American. That is not to say that one is exempt from repercussions of free speech. In this case, the students were interrogated by the US Secret Service, and were found to have made no real threat to the President-elect.

To demand the expulsion of these students is to publicly acknowledge an organization's lack of understanding of our basic rights as Americans. These comments were completely despicable, yet everyone is able to speak their minds.

If the university had done nothing, the students would have painted over the offensive comments within an hour or hour and a half, the university would not look like a huge piece of shit in the media, and the stupid NAACP would not be making asinine demands of our Chancellor.

AT THE 90 DEGREE BEND THERE'S A FITTING WITH A HANDLE ON IT TO FLUSH THE TOILET. I'M SURE YOU'VE ALL SEEN THESE TOILETS. IN CASE YOU STILL CAN'T IMAGINE IT, THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE:

HE WAS ON HIS WAY TO WORK WHEN HE REALIZED HE HAD RHEE RHEE. HE STOPPED AT THE HARDEES AND RAN IN, HEADING STRAIGHT FOR THE BATHROOM. HE RAN INTO THE BATHROOM AND BURST INTO THE STALL, VIOLENTLY STRUGGLING TO RELEASE HIS BELT, BUTTON AND FLY BEFORE HE HEAVILY LOOSE PILED HIMSELF. HE HAD TROUBLE WITH THE BELT AND THE BUTTON, WHICH LOST HIM HIS LAST PRECIOUS SECONDS.

AS HE GOT HIS PANTS DOWN HE SIMULTANEOUSLY TRIED TO SIT DOWN AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ONE SWIFT MOTION, WHICH WOULD HOPEFULLY END UP WITH THE LOOSE PILE IN THE TOILET. UNFORTUNATELY THE BELT HAD COST HIM TOO MUCH TIME AND AS HE BENT FORWARD TO SIT DOWN HE HAD WHAT I REFER TO AS A "LONG POP FART." THIS CAUSED AN IMMEDIATE BLOWOUT OF LOOSE PILE RHEE ALL OVER THE WALL, FLOOR AND PLUMBING OF THE TOILET.

HE WAS SURPRISED WITH THE FEROCITY OF THE LONG POP AND AFTER FEELING IT OUT FOR A MOMENT HE REALIZED ALL OF THE RHEE WAS GONE. SINCE HE WAS NOW FINISHED DUMPING LOOSE PILE, HE SIMPLY WIPED HIS ASS AND LEFT THE BATHROOM THAT WAY. THE HARDEES EMPLOYEES REFUSED TO CLEAN IT BECAUSE OF THEIR LOW WAGES AND LAST I HEARD THEY HAD TO CALL IN Arab13 TO HANDLE IT.
