Co-op in this game rapes time like no other game I've played in a while. Started at around 7 last night and before I knew it we had been playing for nearly 5 hours. I guess that means it's good 3/18/2009 11:13:31 AM |

I have to say, I am a little disappointed by the overall lack of difficulty. The game doesn't really seem to reward smart play like RE4 did. I'm always careful to aim for the head or legs, use melee attacks and generally try to conserve as much ammo as possible. Whereas, my co-op partner just runs around blasting away with the shotgun and seems to do just as well. There is never a shortage of ammo and there is always plenty of Herbs to heal yourself with. This is on Normal by the way. Has anyone played it on the higher difficulties and can comment on if it changes the way you need to play? 3/19/2009 10:12:36 AM |

^How did you get her to use the shotgun? The only way I can ever get her to use anything other than the pistol is to take away all of her pistol ammo. 3/19/2009 10:30:04 AM |

I'm not playing with the AI. I decided after playing the demo and watching the bitch get chain sawed over and over again that the only way I would play this game is with a co-op partner over the network 3/19/2009 10:35:46 AM |

i didn't find RE4 to be particularly difficult. it was just long. there was never a shortage of ammo in that game either, and there were plenty of healing items too. and in RE4 you could upgrade the size of your attache case to carry more items. i've had more trouble with certain parts of RE5 than i did with RE4. i think the big tall guy you fight in the barn in RE4 killed me a lot before i beat him though.3/19/2009 8:14:50 PM |

Damn, y'all must not have played it on Professional. That shit is nearly borderline ridiculous. Nearly everything on Professional will put you in a "Dying" status. Every attack does 10 times as much damage, and there are absolutely no herb drops; only the ones that are placed in the level remain.
You will seriously die in, like, 2 or 3 hits. The rate at which your health drains in the Dying status is insane and you literally need your partner right next to you or else you're fucked.
Don't try this difficulty alone unless you want to go insane. Sheva is absolutely no help at this point; she constantly gets herself killed and most of the time she won't heal you fast enough even if you are STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO HER. It's bullshit. Play this one online.
If I have any tips at all, it is to max out a rifle, give it infinite ammo, and keep an eye out for the crossbows; they cause the most trouble of all. An infinite rocket launcher definitely doesn't hurt either, as does a maxed out infinite ammo L. Hawk.
But seriously..........if you thought RE4 Professional was hard, it looks like a cake walk compared to this shit. 3/24/2009 1:32:40 AM |

and what is up with this points bullshit? I've already beaten the game 3 times and I've only had enough points to afford 5 of the infinite ammo upgrades. I've also made either S or A marks in every chapter. I don't get the point of making all these upgrades so expensive or even having them in the first place because I'll be damned if I'm going to beat the game 3 more times just to be able to use that shit. 3/24/2009 1:34:31 AM |

Played this with my friend tonight, co-op split screen. It's pretty fun, and pretty challenging. We're not hardcore console gamers, and playing on normal we've had to try a couple times on each boss.
The axe guy was the hardest so far, because we weren't sure what triggered the helicopter event.
The worm guy was the kinda hard. We knew what to do, it was just hard to get him stunned in the explody room.
The chainsaw guy was the worst, because we blew up most of the gas cans for fun before we knew we needed them. 3/24/2009 2:46:07 AM |

I have to say that I'm a little disappointed...I mean RE4 took me forever to finish....and I can't count the number of times I had to look up cheats on the internet.....with RE5, it took me barely any time and while it was fun while it lasted, it wasn't very hard (in terms of figuring out what to do....where to do go etc, there were no puzzle things to figure out) and I dunno.....Yes it was fun but I still like RE4 10 times better. I can't believe it took them 4 years to come up with this..... 3/25/2009 2:35:13 AM |
