So I need a little help from one of you. And I'll be helping out you as well.

I made a reservation at Days Inn of Birmingham, AL for:

Check-in on Dec. 28.
Check-out on Dec. 30.

Two hours after I made the reservation, I found out my dad made a reservation for us with his friends at another hotel. I tried cancelling this one and they said it was non-refundable (apparently, I missed a checkbox). BUT, I digress.

The room is a non-smoking 2 double bed room. It cost me a little over $125. I will show up at the hotel and check you in for the price of $80 for the 2 nights.

This hotel is 4/5 of a mile from the stadium.

This is the hotel website: http://www.daysinn.com/DaysInn/control/Booking/property_info?propertyId=14951&brandInfo=DI

Send me a PM

worried your post just what 6-7 posts ago in this thread wouldn't get enough action? will we be subjected to another add on page 4? is your plugging this post in other bowl threads going to stop in the near future? maybe you should make a thread with this info in it....oh wait, nevermind

So Rutgers beat the hell out of USF, who killed us.

But we beat the hell out of UNC, who killed Rutgers.

We should call this the Transitive Property Bowl

Was going to stay there, but the double bed rooms were sold out by the time I got back from buying my tickets at the box office. Now staying at the Hyatt Place Birmingham/Inverness (http://birminghaminverness.place.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/place/index.jsp). It's about 15 miles from the field (yours is 13 or so, I think) but it's $78 a night. Hard to argue with that.

"PapaJohn’s.com Bowl
Dec. 29 / 3 p.m. ET Birmingham, Ala. ESPN2
Tie-Ins: Big East vs. SEC (or Sun Belt if no SEC team available)
Rutgers vs. NC State

This bowl could be good because ... Forget about Oklahoma and Florida; NC State and Rutgers might be the two hottest teams in the country. Fine, so they're not the Sooners and Gators, but NC State won four straight get here while Rutgers has pulled off six in a row.

This bowl could suck because ... Each team has been blowing away everyone over the last quarter of the year. Could one team get hot and blowout the other? Tom O'Brien is great in bowl games, and Greg Schiano's Rutgers team destroyed Ball State in last year's International Bowl."

prolly the only game of the "lower tier" bowls where the teams are coming in on a combined 10 game winning streak. But whatever........terrible bowl, right?

How will they be checking IDs at the Will Call? In the event that I get my student ticket and guest tickets and it turns out that I can't go, will they be checking names on the IDs and print tickets at the Will Call at the stadium? Or will they just check to make sure that there is an ID. I'll have to give my ticket to my roommate, who just graduated and has his valid ID.

^that is stupid.....so will the tickets be given out on a "first come-first serve" basis? What time will they start handing them out?

^They'll have enough tickets - you have to claim and purchase a "ticket" on the ticketing website first. That determines availability.

Espn just did this thing analyzing which players to watch and they profiled RW and how hot hes been. It freaked me out cause they said we were playin in the car care bow v. WVU. For a second I thought they had switched us bowls. They havent have they?

So I decided to read a bit from the Rutgers perspective, and learned... mainly that ESPN's Big East blogger is absolute shit. The guy barely says anything worth reading.

ain't that the damn truth

and he has his lips perched so tightly around louisville's cawk its hard to understand anything he says

that has been entertaining though with louisvilles utter collapse, with him trying to simultaneously find every silver lining about the team while distancing himself from earlier homer-ific blog posts...

espn owns the pizza bowl, so there is a possibility that espn moved it after getting the matchup

a possibility

Except when she said UNC was the 4th most intimidating place to play in the ACC because how pretty the pine trees are and put State at 11th just above Duke.

I agree that Dinch was a horrible cunt to start the season...but she actually made an attempt to become more knowledgable about ACC football as the season went on. I can respect that. Most people are stubborn and won't change their writing even though a chimp could write more interesting articles.

They're playing a 6-6 Kentucky team that went 2-6 in the SEC. The biggest prize they can ever hope for at ECU -- aside from the impossibility of running the table and sneaking into the BCS -- is playing the eighth best team in the SEC. Wow.
