we aren't bad. we aren't great either. we have a shot at making the tourney as an at large. that's not what bad teams do. of course UNC would make us look terrible this year, but they'll make most teams look bad this year, in fact, i don't think they're beatable this year.

We beat them 2 years ago in Tampa... last time we came close in Durham the Kref's called Justin Gainey for a palm... I was in Reynold's for it. It was 2000.

if you judge us based on the games so far- with the exception of davidson- then you havent been following basketball for long or arent paying attention to the players lowe has on the court.

he is giving people who wont be seeing many minutes in the conference season experience early- because they wont have a chance once the season really gets going. lowe doesnt seem to care about blowing a team out early in the season to get ranked in December.

its something i noticed about him early in his career.

I'm a self professed fan of Herb and think it's great what he is going at ASU... no disputing that.

That said, I think it's pitiful that people are casting judgment at Sid already... we have a good class coming in next year and I think we have a CHANCE of exceeding expectations next year. Not a good one... but a chance.

^i might have to bring out the list of botched games for you... but it would take too long to think about all of them... (Texas Tourney Game, Cal Tourney Game, UNC at home his last year, BC at home his last year where we didnt get a shot off 3 different times, etc.)

Herb, nice guy, solid coach, descent recruiter, time to move on...

Was Sidney the right choice? Remains to be seen, but right now most would have to say no. However, if he gets 2 of the big 3 to come next year with the people we already have coming in he has gotten us the greatest recruiting class ever at NC State, and that has to count for something. Again, until his guys are the starting 5, then we won't really know fully about his abilities.
