this thread reads like deadbeats taking advantage of other deadbeats who happen to work at the pizza restaurant.

Delivery fee = very little tip. Sucks for the drivers, but you know what, I'm not going to tack on a normal tip plus another $1.50 "delivery fee" for a $12 pizza, that's almost 15% right there. Too fucking bad if they don't see it, it still comes out of my pocket.Oh, and before you go on about what a dick I am, I tip like crazy to bartenders and cocktail waitresses, and I tip very well to servers.[Edited on December 27, 2008 at 6:10 PM. At my PJs, delivery fee went up to $2 when gas was real bad. Now, gas has gone back down, and delivery fee is still $2. That's cool and all, but we used to get $1.20/delivery, and now for some reason we only get $1.10. Why the fuck is the store making more money for gas going down? Either way though, I'm getting like 2/3 of a gallon of gas per delivery and not using nearly that much. But I tip above and beyond, usually like $4-5 on a pizza order (which I usually just take myself) but like 20% for bartenders and 25-30% for waitresses.[Edited on December 27, 2008 at 6:18 PM. Reason : uhh not way above and beyond i guess]

I tip everyone 20%, regardless of what i am tipping them for.except strippers of course
12/27/2008 6:20:16 PM
this is standardized, it's pretty simple10% poor service15% average service20% perfect service, or for groups of 6 or more.you buy a pizza. it's $12.00 + $2.00 delivery fee (papa john's has $2 fee, i just ordered some last week)$2.00 to me is a surcharge that they are paying the delivery guy anyways. So this is how I do the math.$12.00 * 15% = $1.80, $14.00 * 15% = $2.10, they charge a $2.00 delivery fee, so really I shouldn't pay them anything, but I usually give them $2 on top of that. I never pay more than $4 more than the price of carryout, to me it's just not worth it to drive 2-3 miles.
