great episode

I enjoyed both episodes. The character development has been great so far this season. I really like the Dr. Kelso/Dr. Cox relationship thing they're doing. Seems like an obvious but refreshing addition to the show. However, the absences of Denise and Turk in the episodes were a bit disappointing.

Most of the half hour shows and smaller dramas are, and usually go, on hiatus around this time. One thing to note though is that scrubs is moving to wednesdays @ 8 when it returns in march.

Seemed kind of risky to do a show with only Elliot and Turk (and a little of the Todd). The comparisons of where they are now with how their interns were coping was interesting. Still, an episode without JD, Dr. Cox., Dr. Kelso, and the Janitor doesn't really feel like Scrubs.

All the main characters will miss 2 episodes each this season due to budgetary issues. This is the second episode without JD.

IIRC that episode should have just about rounded out the 2 absences of each character less Elliot and/or Cox perhaps. But JD, Turk, Janitor, Kelso, and Carla absenses have all aired.

This I know. My point was that I was surprised they decided to do an episode with so many of the main characters gone at once. I was expecting a more gradual phase out of characters so that you almost wouldn't notice some of them were missing from an episode.

^yeah, that's true but i think it was a pretty good idea. I'd hate to be down to the final handful of episodes and not have the entire cast.

They did this with 2 episodes, the first early on with a JD/Turk-centric episode (steak night) where they spent the evening off duty with the dying man. and now this one. Now they can return to the full cast and really begin winding everyone's individual stories down and bringing them to a close.
