^^ not really, because doc from 1885 sent the letter to marty in 1955, and the post office guy said they had the letter for 70 years.[Edited on January 12, 2009 at 10:43 AM. Reason : 3]
1/12/2009 10:42:35 AM
yeah but doc would do it anyway because he wouldn't be expecting Marty to be hurtling through the space time continuum to save his ass
1/12/2009 10:43:11 AM
^^when doc gets to the old west that car is sitting in the cave where doc would have put it there just a few weeks prior to marty's coming.in this case they could have walked to the cave where doc hid the delorean and pulled the gas out of that one.
1/12/2009 11:03:46 AM
Yes and what I'm saying is that Doc probably would have drained the gas from the tank knowing that the car would be sitting in the cave for 70 years. However, being a scientist, I imagine he would have drained the gas into a container to keep...
1/12/2009 11:06:56 AM
and when he mentioned it to marty that it wasn't invented yet, his ass surely would have remembered about the stashed Delorean. wow, way to bum me out about BttF. That shit is my favorite trilogy EVER
1/12/2009 12:07:09 PM
But listen to me here. What I am saying is that he would have drained the gas from the Deloreon before stashing it.
1/12/2009 12:40:05 PM
dont get mad
1/12/2009 12:41:22 PM
1/12/2009 12:47:15 PM
no, I completely agree, he would have stashed itbut he didn't remember about the delorean, didn't have any gas, so its a major hole in plot, that's what I'm lamenting.on the whole, BttF does a good job with the plotholes, though
1/12/2009 2:11:42 PM
I'm sure he did remember the Deloreon he had buried. But what good would that have done him?
1/12/2009 2:15:49 PM
truebut my point is, if he remembered the delorean, he would have remembered the gasoline, because as you said, he would have saved ithe didn't, thus we have a problem
1/12/2009 2:18:18 PM
Well, he was a bit absent minded. The time machine was after all one of the first things he invented that really worked.
1/12/2009 3:01:32 PM
HE HAD ALREADY DRAINED THE FUCKING GASOLINE TO STORE THE DELOREAN
1/12/2009 3:05:23 PM
So I can assume that the Delorean that Marty took back to 1885 did not have a Mr. Fusion on it? Sorry, it's been a while.
1/12/2009 3:15:51 PM
1/12/2009 3:34:08 PM
Oh goddammit. I'll bet my face is red right now.
1/12/2009 3:41:41 PM
^^Hence why they didn't need plutonium in part 3 but they did in the first one.
1/12/2009 3:47:21 PM
guys, he probably didn't touch the delorean because he needs it to be in that cave, and messing around in there could have caused someone to notice it and smath/vulcan are rightif i was going to store a car for 70 years, i'd def pull the fuel out...

^2015
1/13/2009 2:32:25 PM
2015.It was the holographic sign, that showed the Miami Gators LOSING to the Cubs. The same sign that the shark came out of and bit Marty for Jaws 27.
1/13/2009 2:32:40 PM
A guy I used to work with told me that they are planning to make Back to the Future IV. The story line is that Michael J Fox goes into the future to find the cure for Parkinson's Disease. [Edited on January 13, 2009 at 2:37 PM. Reason : .]

See now that's not even funny. I'm not above making a parkinson's joke, but that's not even clever.
1/13/2009 2:39:33 PM
^I agree!

1/13/2009 10:10:07 PM
a friend of mine has been on a BTTF kick recently. He was explaining to me that, at any one time, there were up to 4 DeLoreans in Hill Valley, including the one stashed in the cave. He's also been saying "that's heavy" a lot.Ok, gotta go to bed, I'm OUTATIME

1/15/2009 7:02:39 PM
^in the original script (which i only wound up reading because of this thread) they wanted to go with marty's dad, the ever increasingly creepy Crispin Glover, in more of the parts, including as a single ancestor in 1888, and marty's mom was going to play a waitress he was interested inbut crispin glover went insane and refused to take part in the sequels
