Sierras are getting POUNDED right now. Up to 5 feet locally in some places. 50 is still chain free for the time being, but it won't be for long. I-80 is already chains only at Donner Pass.

And it's supposed to snow, at least a little, every day until Sunday...

I went to good old Sugar Mountain on Sunday morning, just got back. Didn't have the time or money for Colorado...

but I must show some love for the 10" of fresh powder. Best NC skiing I've ever done. One of the lift guys said it was some of the best conditions he's seen there since 1998 or so.

So for Sugar Mountain standards, it was kick ass.

wintergreen yesterday was amazing. they had just gotten 10" of fresh powder and it was beautiful. All slopes were open, i only noticed 1 small patch of ice (on a black diamond inconveniently resulting in a bad slide for me). Clear and sunny, it was beautiful (and completely empty )

Went to snowshoe over the weekend. Sunday night was good. Monday was great with all the fresh snow, except for the whole 5 degree temperature.

I went to Beech Mt. on saturday and left on sunday just when it started snowing.

Saturday wasnt bad at all either. Was actually pretty decent. I'm sure sunday was a freaking blast though.

Headed to Tahoe for my bachelor party Thurs of next week. They have gotten 7 feet in the last week so no matter what happens between now and then conditions should be excellent.

Anyone have any experience dealing with Rossignol on a warranty claim? Online seems pretty straightforward but was hoping someone could tell me how they were to deal with before I pay a bunch to send my skis to them. They are a few years old probably 5 years and are starting to seperate at the tip between the layers. they were like this for a while but never got around to sending them back. Figured that would be something they would consider a manufacture defect possibly.

^^ That is called "delamination." You might want to google "Rossignol delamination" to see if others have had successful warranty claims. It is considered a defect in the wakeboard industry and pretty much all the manufacturers will swap it out for a similar model from their current line, but I can't speak for the ski/snowboard industry. Hopefully you'll get hooked up with a nice new pair though.

I just got back from Grand Targhee in Alta WY and Snow King in Jackson Hole. It was amazing. Fresh powder every day. If you ever get a chance I highly suggest either.

This weekend is Snowshoe's last of the season. Thinking about driving up with a friend. Conditions look poor, but it's probably better than being in Raleigh cleaning the garage.

Rossignol said they are out of warranty but I figured that as they are 4 years old. He did say I could send them back and they would give me a price on just a pair of skis for replacement. Anyone have any experience on if you can get a good deal like this? My thoughts are I am done skiing these skis so if I can send them back and get something half way decent for them for a few hundred bucks then might be worth paying to ship them out there.

I got a helmet for Christmas and I am glad I did because Lord knows how many times I would have cracked my head on some ice... Even in CO a few weeks ago, I was boarding on packed powder and it hurt... still better than NC by far

I'll be there this weekend with my dad and brother. Not my idea to go this late, but I'm hoping conditions won't be too horrible.

I bought my helmt 2 1/2 yrs ago after I started spending half my time at the Vermont resorts on the glade runs in the woods. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Now I feel weird skiing without it.

skiing at Heavenly last week (NyM410 on the left).

pic of Lake Tahoe from Heavenly

top of KT-22, highest peak at Squaw Valley. I think I preferred Squaw to Heavenly.

I was gonna post a pic from the Snowshoe trip last month, but nothing really great to post, lol.

ha ha no kidding! me too Mine is badass with the option to attach the ipod. I usually don't listen cause I like to hang with my brothers and bf and talk to them on the lift. It gets annoying after a while when its like 8 degrees going in and out of the jacket to turn it up and down... I doubt listening to the ipod is safe either...
