Why would the online site be shut down though? Don't they have a warehouse somewhere for online inventories?

It sounds like there are several different liquidators that they are working with. They probably have not figured out which liquidator will handle their online warehouse.

10%-30% off today at the one across from Crabtree Valley Mall. I'm not sure about the other locations. No returns, but I don't think the liquidators have taken over. I didn't see any price mark-ups, and they even honored the sales paper that was in today's paper. I got 3 Blu-Ray DVD's for $14.39 ea. after sales paper + 20% off. Most of the dvd players and laptops had been cleared out, but most everything else is still in stock. The line for checkout was to the back wall.

10% on tv's dvd players, computers, mp3
20% cd's dvd's, blu-ray
30% some accessories

I didn't look at those, but I don't remember there being anything in the store that wasn't on sale.

You'll probably notice the opposite actually.

best buy's biggest competitor now is wal mart, and this is going to put an even bigger squeeze for them to lower prices.

1-2 months is crazy.

I don't see anything being left in the store 2 weeks from now, and 1 week from now, it'll all be crappy stuff.

Watch this.

Liquidation sales are for fucking suckers. It's all complete bullshit and it just shows how fucking stupid the American people are."

Holy shit.

How is this not illegal???

As for the cutomers, it is pure psychology and deception at play, which fools people into buying the stuff.

I thought it was common sense; it's apparently not, and anyone who gets suckered by liquidation sales deserves it.

it's not illegal b/c the lower prices (in that video, set by linens and things) lose all validity as the liquidator is a separate company. Then, their liquidation prices say "x% off REGULAR PRICE" not that the x% is going to come off of whatever the retailer had previously set.

is it a bit deceptive to customers? sure. but illegal? not at all.

^glad you don't work there anymore? ha.

same shit happened when L&T closed. you could even see under the price where it was cheaper before the liquidators set up their own prices. durr.

pretty much like everything was 10% off. i guess there was deeper discounted stuff but i didn't see it.

gift certificates WILL be allowed throughout liquidation. i had $30 and got a DS game and I had a few extra bucks to kill so I got some new styluses (?) and i still have 1.19 left on my gift card

Same discounts at crossroads, except they would not honor the sales price from the ads. I wanted to pick up nba 2k9 for $40 plus 10% off, but they tried to charge me $60 for it

Was just at the Crossroads Circuit City, place was a mad house! Parking lot was full and the place was packed! Like a bunch of vultures circling over and pecking on a dead/dying corpse...

I picked up an iPod, wanted one for Xmas, didn't get it, got cash instead.... cold day in hell you see those types of things on sale. The iPods were flying off the shelves.

Other things that I want I think I'll wait for better sales.

Bet the employees were thinking "were the hell were you guys before we had to go under?". Maybe if they had just done a 10% storewide sale!

ETA: maybe this liquidation sale will draw all the business from Best Buy and cause them to go under!

how do you get suckered? just like the price deception stuff? yea, that is kind of dumb. i mean you should know how much something costs before you buy it. buying it on sale in general let alone from a liquidation sale doesn't guarantee the best price. i mean it seems like it should but every time i've ever purchased anything remotely expensive i do research on prices. i get this from my dad, i guess. its like impossible for me to compulsively buy electronics.

but anyway. i did go to CC at crabtree. place was crazy. things were a wreck and stuff like video games already looked picked over (and it was totally disorganized). if you are going to go, i would go like now, if you don't have to work today. i went yesterday so that only added to the chaos. there was like 1 cash register open too. long ass line.

I went to the one up here in northern VA and the prices weren't that great. I was expecting like $20 video games. F all that standing in line business for $5 off.

the thing about lnt was they stopped taking coupons during clearance mode

a coupon at bed bath beyond across the street was generally better than straight clearance price at lnt

Sounds like the typical Circuit City on any random day before things went south for them.

we went on saturday to the one here in RM. it was packed and i saw very few deals. people were snatching up stuff left and right though...stuff that was not clearance/sale. ridiculous.

last tuesday rock band 1 was in the clearance bin for $10. this saturday they pulled it out, put it back in a plastic box and marked it $59.99.

I predict the following.

Best Buy scores some rock bottom leases in towns where there was a CC and no BBY. They continue rapid expansion.

Wal-Mart's electronics business to grow larger.

How often is that the case. All Circuit City stores that I can think of
off the top of my head already have a Best Buy less than a mile away.
But I can really only come up with about 5 CCs off the top of my head.

bought an ipod component cable set for $35 - not a bad deal, but the prices and selection at the Beaver Creek CC were shit. I think all of the official apple stuff was gone - most likely they returned it to the vendor.

I went to Linens & Things at Crossroads during their "closeout" to get an Aero Bed. Sure enough, the prices were higher than they had been before the sale. They were the same price as Bed Bath & Beyond, but with BB&B I would be able to use a 20% coupon and have a place I could return it if it failed during the warranty period.

I was referring to the seemingly random order the DVDs are always in, not that people were actually in the store.

oh ahahaha. yea. place was a shitshow. and someone pulled the display camera so far out of the display that the alarm went off and not one of the 5 employees working knew how to turn it off. it was going of for like 15 minutes.
