at any given time there are just as many people that are better looking than me in the room as there are people that are less attractive than me....that puts me right in the middle...so a 5

also...but the dating scale of +/- 3 that means i can hook up with anywhere from a 2 to an 8....if i were better looking my range would be a lot smaller

See, I don't view the hotness scale as a linear function. For a woman, going from a 1 to a 2 usually involves showering and brushing your teeth. However, at the top end, you're looking for perfect symmetry of the body, proportions, whatever. Women's scales have more weight at the upper ranges of the scale than the lower, simply because of the male affinity for boobs. Guys are probably more normally distributed.

I like LP78 accounting for variation though, most women can change at least 2 to 3 points +/- based on clothing and how they decide to carry themselves.

Either way, overall attractiveness is more important than mere looks.
