It changes from person to person, from body part to body part, and based on the severity of the impact.

But it normally takes at least an hour for a contusion to begin to appear and some don't show up until a few days later.

It's "That's gonna look like shit in the morning." Not "You just got hit and I can totally tell because your face is black and blue already."

Swelling is a little different, but I've observed that swelling takes a while too.

I know that he's into fighting and stuff. When I saw his comment, I second guessed myself.

But I'm telling you, it normally takes a while for bruises to appear, unless you're like old or sick or something.

Professional type fighters are different. They hit harder. They also bruise more easily because of previous injuries.

^^^Swelling is different. I was wrong about that.

I doubt it. There's been a ton of excuses made for Chris in the comments on black entertainment blogs ('what'd she do to provoke him', 'you know how those island women get lol', etc.) .
