They really really need to nerf either the rocket launcher or the assault class, probably both. The fact that you can run around faster than everyone else, with more armor, and with the most powerful weapon in the game is just obscene. I have no idea what they were thinking. Classes are supposed to offer different ways to play, not clearly better ways to play. They need to also give players a reason to use the basic soldier. It's a fun game but there are some definite balance issues with the classes. 3/15/2009 5:54:12 PM |

I agree with that a little, but also the assault class isn't that great. Its really easy to miss with a rocket and it takes a long time to reload. Also you only get 3 rockets. If you play in a huge 32 player game its a good way to stack up kills with this class, but its pretty lame.
If I were you I would try playing in the smaller games, like 20 people max. I started doing that this weekend and I'm having a lot more fun. Strategy is much more important and the clusters are not nearly as bad.
I really would like to play this game with some people that use mics. Using some good strategy would make this game so much more fun. We should get a game going sometime. 3/16/2009 9:08:46 AM |

Yeah, lower player count does help but on smaller maps like Blood Gracht, the rocket launcher is still crazy. Limited ammo really isn't an issue as you can just pick up guns off dead people. The problem is that between the fast movement speed and extra armor, there is really nothing you can do to stop a charging assault class player with a rocket launcher. They should make it that having the rocket launcher out slows your movement speed, or reduce the splash damage.
I've tried to join a game with you a few times but the server is usually full.

I've found these people incredibly easy to kill. all you need is an open area so you're not against a wall. then you just strafe around and fire on them. Unfortunately, you're susceptible to snipers like this, but at least you can prevent your team from losing badly during body count.3/17/2009 1:50:32 PM |

New patch coming out soon looks to be really awesome:
http://blog.us.playstation.com/
Quote : | "The ‘Join Friend’ option has been changed so that the player can automatically join a friend’s faction and squad – even if faction balancing is on. In addition, squads and their factions are now persistent over multiple games, so friends can keep playing together continuously." |
Quote : | "Patch 1.27 allows players to switch factions manually if the factions are unbalanced. If the factions consist of, say, 13 players versus 11 players, a player from the largest faction can manually switch over to make it an even 12 versus 12. Switching in the other direction is not allowed, so players from the smaller team can’t defect to the larger team if the battle doesn’t go their way. Players who switch over retain all their points, but squad affiliations will of course be lost. " |
Quote : | "removed the temporary invulnerability awarded to players who spawn at a spawn point other than the base camp. The players will still be safe at their own base camp, but custom-placed or mission-based spawn points do not yield temporary invulnerability anymore. " |
Quote : | "The Assault Badge, for instance, was deemed too powerful by many players – so we tweaked down its Armor ability from 100 hit points to 50 hit points. The Tactician Badge’s secondary ability (to request air support from a Sentry Bot) has also been tweaked to make the Sentry Bot more useful. It can aim more accurately now, and its health is a little higher as well. To make it even more useful, we’ve reduced the way automated turrets target them, so they’re not shot down as fast." |
These are great tweaks in my opinion and should make the game a lot more balanced. Taking away temporary invulnerability at spawn grenades is going to change the spawn point cluster fuck considerably, hopefully for the better.5/27/2009 2:23:49 PM |

That's like the number one thing people bitched about when the game released. Good for them.5/27/2009 2:30:35 PM |

excellent. That was becoming one of my biggest pet peeves in strategic games. You could easily take over points by simply spawning and going crazy with grenades and C4.5/27/2009 7:06:28 PM |
