^^ bevmo carries avery's beers (at least in socal)

avery had an inauguration beer called ale to the chief (i just called it obama beer ever since it was released last summer) -- i loved it, unfortunately i think it's all gone (or at least i can't find it anywhere, i hope they release it again sometime)

i also love their maharaja, but that's also limited release

both were hoppy, but avery makes other styles too

Just picked some up at Harris Teeter @ Tryon Village. No 6-packs, just 22oz bottles. Also got a bottle each of 1554 and Mothership Wit. Anybody seen their Trippel anywhere?

Man, I had a pretty good beer at Tobacco Road. Its one of their specials, it was a little too sweet but paired well with my dinner.

Sweetwater was supposed to have made it's way to the Raleigh Durham area according to their website. Anyone confirm? Greensboro is interesting, which store?

Lowes Food has only the 22oz 3.50 bottles. Not even 6 packs. Cashier said they'd rather we overpay for the 22oz. wtf?

the bartender at our local bar is pushing the amber real hard. apparently if we drink enough, we get it on tap

The 1554 was really good I thought. Picked up all three also. I want to try their Trippel, but don't know where to find it.

Figure it out. I work there sometimes on weekends, usually at the door after 11.

they're only selling the bombers of Fat Tire, Mothership Wit and 1554 in NC for the time being, the rest of their lineup as well as kegs and seasonals should follow in the next few months.

<- lives in Denver.

I'll trade you Fat Tire for Yuengling.

Quote :
"fat tire is my least favorite out of the new belgium beers but it is still solid...I remember their winter beer being fantastic and every other beer from them has been pretty solid"

fat tire tastes like soap compared to most brews in CO, it was really good the first couple times i tried it, but now it just doesn't hold a candle to other beers i've found here

Quote :
"Sunshine Wheat is incredible with a bit of lemon."

i concur, good wheat beer, probably next best to blue moon.

Quote :
"there are much better colorado beers."

but i agree with the sentiment, it's good to have new belgium beers for selection in Raleigh, they are good beers

How did I miss this thread. I saw a damned Fat Tire 18-wheeler rolling down Gorman St. the other day, and thought it was a really odd since I'd never seen Fat Tire anywhere around here. This thread explains all.

The Harris teeter in cameron village has six packs of all the New Belgium stuff for 6.99 right now.

I really wonder how this beer got so ridiculously popular. Was it a fantastic marketing plan by the brewery or did it just organically take on this cult status? In my opinion it's just an above average amber ale. It's pretty good, but nothing to get excited about.

Now in Charleston. We've got a couple different 22's, gonna have it on tap in about a week. Pretty good stuff.
