with the loss of Matt Jones to legal reasons the Jaguars seem to be in need of a good offensive weapon to go along with the backfield of jones-drew and the accurate passer in Garrard. However with the loss of Marcus Stroud they would like to line up someone to compete with Henderson on the Defensive side of the ball, Del Rio always seems to find a good defensive scheme and the issues on offense can be addressed in free agency.

The Jaguars select BJ Raji of Boston College

The MONSTER at DT has the size, speed and power to compete from day one. A solid future choice for Jacksonville with long term viability for the money. 6.5 sacks and 11 tfl make Raji a STEAL here for the Jaguars.

(although I think Raji will be gone and they go with the likes of Percy Harvin or Crabtree to replace Jones.)

the skins look real thin there. With fat albert in the middle eating up two guys, a pass rusher like Brown could get a lot of sacks on that line. I like London Fletcher getting to run free as well. With the 14th pick in the 2009 nfl draft, the New Orleans Saints select MALCOLM JENKINS, CB/S, OHIO STATE.
It's no secret the saints have been terrible against the pass. Jenkin's poor 40 time and hip techniques at the draft project him to play safety instead of corner in the NFL, but thats A-OK with the saints, who's safeties are old and sucky.

Hell, when i checked them out on madden 09, their top rated safety was an 81. (because madden player ratings are CLEARLZZY the definitive judgement on NFL player value).


Jenkins is a ball-hawk and the saints will hope he can continue that in the next level.

Another option would be a defensive end like robert ayers from tennessee or larry english from northern illinois... two of the saints defensive ends were involved in the same drug test issues that the williamses from the vikings were positive for, and may face suspensions at the beginning of the season. That would leave the saints dangerously thin at DE, so a pick like that would provide them insurance at the position.

With the 16th pick in the TWW mock draft, the San Diego Chargers select: Rey Maualuga, mlb from USC.

The chargers defense proved to be vulnerable last year up the middle, and Rey helps to solve that problem. I thought the Chargers would go defensive back here especially considering that the secondary was pretty weak last year, (looking at you Cromartie) but with Jenkins off the board they decided to take the best player available in Maualuga.

With the 17th pick in the TWW mock draft, the New York Jets select:

Percy Harvin, WR, Florida

Now that Laveranues Coles is gone and the Kellen Clemens era has begun in New York, the Jets are looking for an explosive playmaker to provide a downfield threat opposite Jericho Cotchery. Harvin has been impressive in camps so far, and many think he can be a Reggie Bush type player in the NFL.

Kansas State's QB Josh Freeman could also land here, but I think the Jets are going to stick with Clemens and maybe bring in a veteran QB like Byron Leftwich as an insurance policy. Chris "Beanie" Wells is another popular pick in this position, but I think the Jets can stretch another good year out of the Thomas Jones/Leon Washington backfield.

alot of people are saying a trade between denver (1st and 3rd rounds) and jacksonville (1st round) is likely (denver in attempt to get sanchez).

^^ i dunno, i see percy harvin and reggie bush as similar players. either boom or bust. so I kindof see him as a luxury pick, because alot of teams cant afford that much risk in the 1st round.
