i think kentucky will be the best team, but they didn't do anything to earn a preseason #1, so sure.

See Kansas to me has everything you could want in a preseason #1 team. They've got talent, they've got experience and chemistry, they've got the coaching, and they've got an outstanding recruiting class coming in too (Scout #4, ESPN #5, Rivals #6). Kentucky will be talented, but they will be all playing together for the first time, and playing in the weak SEC won't help them out in preparing for the NCAA tournament as much.

right now I'm leaning towards Villanova or Texas, but Kansas is right up there...maybe I'm still pissed at them for ruining my bracket 2 years ago.

^yep, I thought Abrams and Atchley vastly underperformed for them last year...they've got a sick recruiting class coming in plus they have a Turkish PG who I think is going to have a huge year (Balbay) not to mention a stud center (Pittman). Also I think Justin Mason will be much more consistent this year and could have a breakout season.

Speaking of Big XII teams...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmSNBCU5f4Y&feature=related

It's kind of cool seeing what KSU's old Ahearn Field House looked like in that video. That was the final year that KSU would play there, as they would move into Bramlage Coliseum in 1988. That is a pretty terrible logo at center court though. I didn't realize this until just now researching it, but Ahearn Field House prompted Kansas' move to Allen Fieldhouse. In fact Allen Fieldhouse was modeled after Ahearn.

^I don't really think they're much of a dark horse though...Andy Katz has them at #3 on his preseason top 25 (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/columns/story?columnist=katz_andy&id=4262039). I don't know if they should be #1 but I think they might be the best team in the country.

Nope, people can call Lowe a bad coach if they want to do so. As I've said before, there are legitimate arguments to be made that such is the case. I disagree, but that's my opinion.

Now if somebody claims Lowe sucks for erroneous, inaccurate, overblown or otherwise bullshit reasons, THEN I'll be happy to "discuss" the issue in greater detail

Duke still has two very solid returning pgs. As I recall, Williams didn't even get playing time until smith was injured and he wasn't much of an offensive player anyway. I think they were #1 one point without williams. This hurts their bench but any team with two big time options and an all american is a threat.

duke has NO pgs

nolan smith was a quazi pg out of high school, no good.

how are they even going to practice? they have curry, but thats not even enough to practice 2 on 2.

Obviously she knows nothing about college basketball, but is this surprising considering a)the whole "my car got stolen" debacle in The Lounge and b) she is female. I definitely feel like I lost brain cells by reading that post though.

On a separate note seeing Lance Thomas and Zoubek starting in the frontcourt this season should be quite entertaining. Also if Smith of Scheyer get injured Singler will have to play guard which would be interesting.

^^are you playing super tuff defensive tww'er?

she mad a dumbass post, i called her out

its how we do, dipshit.

would you rather me put up a bunch of her quotes and then explain why they are retarded?

like how having 2 guards is going to do more than "hurt the bench"

do the fucking math. smith and sheyer will have to play 40 minutes every game. there is no bench to hurt

Wait, have you ever played college basketball? AAU? High school? and somehow I have some maley nurd on the internet telling me I know nothing about basketball. Scheyer started and ran the point most of last year playing around 30. Smith replaced Paulus as the starting pg before his injuries. Just because you only have two pgs and they both start doesn't mean they both have to play 40 but you don't learn things like that by posting 11k on a message board. Plus you don't have to keep 2 big time guards in the game at all times, they have another wing.

it's because you don't and your posts reveal it.

yes we know he played PG last year but it's not his natural position, he was forced to play it because Paulus sucks and Smith wasn't getting the job done.

jesus fucking christ you're retarded...it's not that they only have 2 PGs its that they only have 2 GUARDS on the roster.

Quote :

yet again you reveal your obvious ignorance, what are they gonna do, play Singler at the 2? He would get schooled on defense guarding a SG.

you should probably just stop posting in here before you embarrass yourself further

this is worst case scenario for them. they already had an image problem, so bad that they had to spend

$exas on a video showcasing their run and gun style. now they have to play slow ball, and THEY CANT EVEN DRIBBLE.

i dont see them making the tourney this year

oh they'll make it, and probably finish top 3 in the conference, just because that's what they do. however, as typical with dook teams, they'll flame out in the first weekend because of tired legs. i mean they actually had reserves in years past and K refused to play them, so this really won't be any different. in fact, all this is setting him up for winning COY for overachieving yet again

not to disrespect anyone's family if they really are sick, but i'm always skeptical of these situations. Didn't really believe it with Alex Stepheson and don't 100% believe it now. even though i'm not sure why else he'd transfer since he would have had tons of playing time this season, but i feel like it's something else (maybe didn't like the offense/coaches, whatever)

apparently his dad really was sick, but had recovered by the time he left, so people tend to think he was just homesick or was afraid of not playing. the ncaa apparently agreed since they denied his request to not sit out

He's right though. The entire reason they started playing Williams more is because Smith isn't a true PG and Scheyer DEFINITELY is not a PG. He would be the 3rd option at that position on a team with ANY depth.

Losing Williams is a big blow and any Duke fan would tell you the same.

(And yes, FYI, I did play high school and AAU -- though AAU briefly because I chose baseball)

Not to get off topic, but it was CT. It wasn't like I was playing against inner city ballers. It was mostly a bunch of whities like me.

My high school team was all white

I balled out in Junior High and my Frosh year, I was 6"3' when I was 14. Then we moved to another district and I found out that blacks did in fact exist and that they were much quicker than me.
