what about NCSU winning streak in 1973,74?
I think we went 56-0.. in David Thompson era, but something happened and the streak became inofficial. He played professional bball while in college?

UCLA had an 88-game win streak during their domination of college basketball.

David Thompson violated recruiting procedures by supposedly having an illegal practice, brought forth to the NCAA committee by someone from UNC, which led to NC State being disallowed from the Big Dance in 1973, although they did win the ACCT.

^^^Unbreakable for NCSU records maybe.

It wasn't that long. We lost to UCLA in the regular season of 1974.

Ludwick 0 for 3, up right now, 2-2 count, bottom of the 6th

catchers interference...Ludwick to 1st...MIGHT have another at bat to try and get a hit...if not, the streak ends at 21

Perhaps the Hurricanes last night scoring with 0.2 seconds left in regulation to win a playoff game? It was the latest in NHL history for a regulation win and I don't know if anything can beat that as the puck has to cross before time expires, so I don't really see how this will be beaten anytime soon as it is such a hard scenario to duplicate. Hooray Canes in the record books.

^^I totally forgot to mention Alexander Karelin's 13 year undefeated streak in international wrestling competition which included 3 golds in 3 straight Olympics in Greco-Roman. (they mentioned it in their streaks though). And the fact that he didn't give up a point in competition over the last 6 years of the streak was nuts. BUT, what I remember most about him was his loss to US' Rulon Gardner that broke the streak in the Sydney Olympics gold medal match.

Talk about slaying the giant, and on the biggest stage.

NC State - most disappointed fan base.

Los Angeles just broke the NL record for longest opening home game win streak.

I just YouTubed this. I had never heard of either dude nor the streak. I wrestled in high school and really love wrestling, but that match was boring as fuck. I guess it's the same way a lot of times with heavy-weights in regular wrestling. Impressive streak for sure.

^^ lol, you must have been living under a rock in 2000...and completely missed several subsequent stories. Not only did this guy pull off one of the greatest upsets of all time (although only a few people care b/c its wrestling) but he is also one of the toughest mother fuckers of all time....

From wikipedia...

Survival Stories

Rulon Gardner has had an amazing streak of luck with survival. While in grammar school, Rulon was impaled by an arrow in a show-and-tell incident. In 2002, Gardner was stranded on a wilderness snowmobile trip and had to have a toe amputated after suffering frostbite. In 2004, he was hit by a car while riding his motorcycle. In February 2007, Gardner and two others crashed a Cirrus SR-22 airplane into Lake Powell. After surviving the impact, they were forced to swim in 44 °F (7 °C) water for over an hour. The three survived overnight without shelter or fire in 28 °F (-2 °C) air temperature. His amazing luck streak continued when a fisherman, out of his usual route, found and picked them up in the morning."

Four 20-game winning pitchers on one team in a single season. That one is shared between two teams... '71 Orioles and '20 White Sox(The year after the scandal).

No way it ever gets broken or even tied.

Duke did that in 1938 and then was scored on for the first time with 20 seconds to go in the Rose Bowl and lost to USC 7-3. The team was nicknamed "The Iron Dukes" which eventually became the name of their sports booster club.
