for shame. I assume you're talking about Mario Williams, not Manny Lawson.

and just as an update, Mario finished with 6 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 TFL, 1FF and Manny registered 1 tackle last night against the Cardinals.

^ Monster game for Mario. He is so inconsistent though. I assume that has to do with the way teams block against him, but he seems to get like 80% of his meaningful stats (sacks, FFs) in like 5 games each year and then not much of anything in the rest of the games.

Peppers is the same way though. I guess everyone can't be Jared Allen.

^yep. And I think a lot has to do with the inconsistency of the Texans as a team. One thing that helped him was that the Seahawks were playing from behind the whole game so they had no choice but to be pass-happy and Mario was able to tee off.

On a related note, has anybody else seen the super slow-mo commercial for the NFL's Play-60 campaign that features Mario? Cute little kid running, smiling and laughing, Mario runs up and scoops him up with his bigass bear-paws. good for Mario.

i was reading the chargers message board and if what i read on there is correct, Rivers is 5th in the AFC in votes received for the Pro Bowl behind Manning, Brady, Roflberger and Palmer......yes, the same palmer who passed for 98 yds this past week

It's cool though Rivers is in the playoffs while his classmates Big Ben and Eli aren't looking too good.

[Edited on December 16, 2009 at 12:39 AM. Reason : V Maybe Phil can get his this year....]

3/4 of QBs in the league could have won it with the steelers his first year. but yeah, it'd be nice to see rivers get one, but they're not good enough.

oh shit! sorry y'all. Quite the coincidence considering Mario did have a strip sack of Hasselbeck this past Sunday. My bad.

Falcons sign kicker Hauschka
By Pat Yasinskas

With kicker Matt Bryant dealing with a hamstring injury and the recent death of his father, the Atlanta Falcons went out and signed kicker Steven Hauschka on Tuesday.

Hauschka previously kicked for Baltimore, where he also served as a kickoff specialist. Atlanta punter Michael Koenen handles kickoffs and he and Bryant both were injured in Sunday’s game. Koenen suffered a concussion and that created a bit of a desperate situation.

The Falcons were forced to have defensive end Kroy Biermann kick off and had backup quarterback Chris Redman prepared to take over punting duties. There remains optimism that Koenen can play in Sunday’s regular-season finale, but Hauschka should help stabilize the situation on special teams.

^ Hopefully he can kick well and maybe land a roster spot with Atlanta next year. What happened to Elam - I thought he was the Falcons kicker this year?

Mario was doubled teamed most of the time. It was like Eric berry for Tennessee - one of if not the best defenders in NCAA- won awards and everything- But statistically he had an "average" season because the opposing teams know not to throw to his side of the field

Mario isn't starting but he is the 3rd DE in the AFC

Philip isn't starting either, but no shit since Peyton has been doing so well this year

Adrian is the starting SS for the NFC. Fitting, since on Sunday he became the 10th player in NFL history to record both 20 interceptions and 20 sacks
