i thought it was entertaining - Helena Bonham Carter stole the show.

The movie was more based on "through the looking glass" than "alice in wonderland". It had flashbacks but was mainly set when alice was older.

Best line of the movie if you didn't catch it.

Mad Hatter:

"What's the hatter with me?"

"The Red Knight - His movement were so jerky, was his body animated as well? I can understand when he is riding on the animated horse but when he is simply moving around the castle, it seems jerky, even compared to other animated characters."

That was intentional. The other animated characters didn't move like that, as you pointed out. Personally, I liked it.

"The Madhatter dance - The music accompanying this dance felt so fucking out of place from the entire movie, I cringed."

I do agree that it was a little "out of place" in that it was unexpected in some ways. But it was hyped up throughout the story, so I expected it to be a little over the top. And keep in mind that ultimately, it's a children's movie (PG adaptation of a children's story). The theater I was in had quite a few little kids, they all loved that part. They were into it and I saw a few trying to do the dance on the way out of the theater. -- so while it did feel a little out of left field for (although was it that out of place in a land where anything is possible?), it was a home run with that demographic in my theater.

I was fucking rolling after the "Goodbye, sweet hat" line.

This is definitely a sequel, so it'd be a good idea to brush up on your old school Alice in Wonderland basic story. I was pretty lost through a lot of the movie. It was pretty entertaining otherwise.

I didn't really understand why the mad hatter would get the scottish accent from time to time, or why it kept changing.

Saw it today at MV. Didn't meet my expectations, but it wasn't terrible. I was entertained and liked the story.

As far as not understanding the Mad Hatter in parts, I don't think you were supposed to. It sounded like complete gibberish to me, but I feel that was the intent--he is mad afterall.
