I would say the biggest thing Favre brings to the fantasy table, is even MORE value for AP and Chester Taylor. Teams really can't load the box with Favre back there. Berrian is back to being a solid pick and Shiancoe goes from sleeper to solid TE pick. 8/18/2009 12:13:46 PM |

Thanks for the advice Panthro. I can only keep either Brown or Thomas though...which would you keep in a regualr scoring format? What about PPR?
It seems like Ronnie Brown is ranked higher than he should be. He had a good year last year, but lots of that was in 1 game and a lot of his success seems gimicky. Pierre Thomas is solid, but Reggie Bush is an X factor is healthy.
I also have Reggie Bush and could keep him over Brown/Thomas if we switch to PPR. 8/18/2009 1:09:31 PM |

We finished the vet draft(25 rounds) and I fear I am hit at RB(no PPR, dynasty, 10 man league, D/ST):
Barber Bush Larry Johnson Jamaal Charles Peyton Hilis, Earnest Graham
I think I have 2 or 3 solid RB2s but no solid RB1.
Who can I draft in the Rookie Draft to get that solid RB1(first pick): Donald Brown or Knowshon Moreno(that RB depth chart is DEEP).
Or any sleeper RBs that could start the season and be solid RB1(Greene, McCoy, Wells) 8/18/2009 3:00:14 PM |

Stafford. He has c. johnson....If he doesn't totally suck it up, he's likely to be throwing to a top 5 receiver for much of his career.
^^I'd go McCoy....he's RB 2 behind what's increasingly becoming a RB made of glass.

How many points per reception does your league award? I forgot what we have used in the past.
I'm thinking 1 point would be appropriate for a 12-14 team league 8/19/2009 9:08:22 AM |

^^ Moss sounds good but you would be reaching with Brady IMO. There is injury concern there as well as other QBs that would be rated higher like Brees

In the PPR I'd take Bush over Thomas, but in a standard league I'd def. keep Thomas. Thomas is their redzone back so he'll get the majority of the TDs.
Brown is a question mark. Aside from one big game last year he really didn't have a great season and in large part because he was sharing time with R. Williams. I read that Brown would assume a bigger share of the carries but who knows how much more production that will lead to. I'd say PPR - Bush, Standard - Thomas. 8/19/2009 10:33:11 AM |

So Pierre Thomas or Ronnie Brown as my 5th keeper in a standard 10 man league.
I already have Brady, Moss, Colston, Michael Turner.

that one is pretty close....
I would say Thomas just due to the number of red zone opportunities he will have over the season as well as the fact he wont be sharing as many carries this year. I agree that a huge chunk of Brown's points came in that NE game last year and thus inflated his overall value. 8/19/2009 10:38:34 AM |

If it's non-PPR then I'd definitely go Forte.
I have the 3rd pick in my league but it's a keeper league(some random keepers including Brady and Moss). So I really need to sit down and make my rankings prior to the draft.
Just curious, but what is everyone general consensus on Westbrook? He's back to practicing at full speed and when healthy(or semi-healthy) he can be a fantasy workhorse, but they have McCoy and now Vick. Just curious where he's sliding on most people's boards this year. 8/19/2009 1:24:01 PM |

Brady actually went off the board 8th. I ended up getting Slaton at 12, Moss at 13. I was wanting the max points of Brady to Moss, but I'm glad I have Moss.

Brees, Drew QB NO McFadden, Darren RB OAK Thomas, Pierre RB NO Cotchery, Jerricho WR NYJ Holmes, Santonio WR PIT Johnson, Calvin WR DET Longwell, Ryan K MIN Buccaneers DST Quinn, Brady QB CLE Fargas, Justin RB OAK Hightower, Tim RB ARI McAllister, Deuce RB NO Hixon, Domenik WR NYG Bills DST
Heavy lean towards Brees, Johnson, Thomas, and McFadden. The Steelers homer in me really wants to keep Holmes, but the 4 I listed are probably the way to go. I don't want McFadden to end up being a stud and know I let him go. That happened to me last year with Turner. 8/20/2009 8:35:12 AM |

Haven't heard that much about Nicks other than the commentary in the Panthers game the other night. They seemed to think he was not performing well at camp and was being outshined by the D2 guy that was also drafted.
Romo has fallen apart in the 2nd half of the season the last couple of years.
Looks like a "yay" to me to but it is really close. I assume his rationale is that Romo is due for a breakout season since TO isn't there anymore and Braylon's QB situation is unsettled. If you have an average to above average backup that could be a great deal.8/20/2009 8:17:20 PM |

^^I was satisfied with my team, glad to see others like it. I've won the last 2 years with less than what I have, so I'm hoping for the 3-peat. I grabbed McNabb in round 4, which was a round earlier than I wanted to, but some of my target QBs were already off the board (some fool took Matt Ryan in round 2, haha). I actually got Marshawn Lynch in round 8, which I thought was ridiculous. There were many odd things in our draft, such as one guy taking Kurt Warner in the 1st round (11th) and the Steelers D in round 3. Another guy took 2 QBs in the first 4 rounds, and drafted 2 kickers. Each team in our league seems to have a glaring weakness at one spot or another, but I feel good about my team. 8/21/2009 12:54:17 AM |

^AP all day. Favre helps no doubt even though he's not that good anymore he will spread the defense and Berrian and Rice can go deep. Teams won't be stacking the line for AP now.

I would cut Curtis if you have to cut one because he is 3rd now behind Jackson and Maclin most likely.

The Eagles have 3 WRs that are basically the same "type" of WR. They're all under-sized speed guys, so I'm curious how that offense will look. I really wanted them to get a prototypical big possession guy to complement Curtis and Jackson, but I thought they got a great pick when Maclin slid to them(aside from his fumble on the kick return last night).

How many points do you guys give per reception? We give 1 right now, but that seems high.
A guy with 4 catches and 40 yards gets 8 points, which is the same as a TD catch. Also, it seems like any crappy receiver can get that much 8/22/2009 4:38:37 AM |

I have the 4th pick in my upcoming draft tomorrow.
Assuming Peterson & Turner get taken, who would you guys take from Jones-Drew, Forte, Westbrook, D.Williams, Tomlinson etc?
I'm liking D.Williams since the Panthers Oline seems to be stable/consistent. http://74.125.47.132/search?q=cache:SF1_ioscxYgJ:heraldsun.southernheadlines.com/sports/panthers_nfl/5-1191224.cfm+carolina+panthers%27+offensive+line&cd=3&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us
Forte has a mostly new O-line coming together, but they should be improved? http://www.windycitygridiron.com/2009/4/9/828760/chicago-bears-offensive-line
Jags o'line looks shaky: http://www.jacksonville.com/sports/football/jaguars/2009-08-20/story/jaguars_offensive_line_draws_upon_lackluster_start
Bolt's o'line looks pretty average too: http://www.bolthype.com/2009/03/will-chargers-offensive-line-improve-in.html
