well, i paid $30 (i didn't go VIP because i don't think it would take me 6 hours to get drunk if i wanted to...4 hours at the beerfest a few months ago was good enough for me )

i'll have a good time...i enjoy GOOD bourbon, and perhaps i'll get more sloshed than ever before in my life...but it's certainly not the plan, and i'm really okay with that

I dropped the boys off right at 12pm and the amount of people there was mind-boggling. I'd venture to guess at least half the tickets sold to this fucking thing were VIP tickets, meaning if you got a regular ticket, be prepared for crazy lines and for all the good shit to be gone.

we DIDN'T have VIP, yet we were able to drink all that we wanted and none of the "good stuff" was gone by the time we got inside around 2:15. We waited in like 1 line, for Blue Moon products which are kinda shitty anyway.

They did start running outta stuff at like 5:50, but by that time everyone is so sloshed it was probably a good thing.

you just aren't aware of everything they ran out of. The Maker's mark tent ran out of Mint Julep before 2PM, and the woodford reserve that had cinnamon and apples mixed into it was also going by 2PM also. there were no lines whatsoever at any alcohol booths until 2PM, at which point every bourbon vendor worth drinking quickly developed a 10 person or longer line. The Sweet Lucy was gone by 2:30, the top shelf Jim Beam brands were gone by about 4:30. The $1 waters were gone by 3PM. I don't remember when the Elijah Craig 18 year ran out, but it was early on.

If you waited "in line" at the Blue moon tent, you were probably standing behind people that didn't realize they were in a line and were just huddling under the trees. You could have walked right up to the table with blue moon, woodchuck, and new holland brewing at any time and get a beer instantly.
