michael bay. lots of long pan and tracking shots. lots of slow motion. epic score. cheesy comic relief. big explosions. robots. megan fox. bring the kids cuz its about toys. plot? minimal. just good guys vs bad guys.

all that combined actually works really well in a theatre and you just forget about reality for a while and just enjoy it and try not to analyze it too much.

IMO, i like the american style mechs. they look cool fighting each other and when they transform. its really hard not to root for optimus prime either, or to watch starscream's insolence.

you wanna watch some good mech vs mech action watch Neon Genesis Evangelion

i don't know if you like anime but at least it develops the plot and characters and the fight scenes are absolutely brutal

many of the characters die or get disfigured and you actually care because there is a plot

even if it is a cartoon

"What? Did you even read my post?

I called Transformers "shit" because it was BORING. If I'm going to watch something "mindless" it should still be fun, which Transformers simply wasn't. I'm not going to restate the reasons why it was boring -- I've done it at least two times now and if you haven't grasped the concept yet, you probably never will.

I even explicitly stated that I was NOT associating the ideas of "good design" and "art", because I knew someone like you would come along and say.. well, basically exactly what you just said. Try reading the post again, since you quite obviously completely misunderstood it last time.

...Just in case your reading skills fail you yet another time, I'll just put it right out there again:
With regards to Transformers (or generally any "mindless" summer action movie), "good design" would be in well-made fight choreography and exciting pacing. It did not have either of these things."

i'd take more time to read your posts fully and attempt to understand them if you didn't always post/react...well, just like the quote above. if you read my post, you'll notice i already said i didn't see transformers and was responding to the argument in general.

though i will apologize and say that i was combining u and bweez together into a more extreme mutant which would make a great summer movie monster. if you read his comments and then add in a few of your one liners it makes for a very unlikable person.
