What does gaming have to do with this?

Start here: http://www.quirksmode.org

Or don't, because I can't imagine you give a shit about any of this.

Maybe you could restate your point or something. All I can tell is that you're trying to prove you have less of a clue than thumper.

I dunno, it's the only reason I can think of one browser being superior over another. Ya know, faster refresh rate or something?

Seriously, tell me why FF is better than IE. Don't give me a website and tell me to go read. Tell me in your own words.

Or don't, and prove that slingblade knows what he's talking about. It's better because I said so!

Traditionally, IE has had lots of security flaw. The layout engine (what turns code into web pages) was also pretty fucking horrible before IE8. IE8 is better in a lot of ways, but, as you have proven, a lot of people are using old versions of IE.

So, no point? You really think people use Firefox as a vanity statement? Come the fuck on, it's a free open source application.

Also, thumper, people call stubborn IE users ignorant because of shit like this:

If you're really too lazy to research alternative products, you can't flip the fuck out when people call you out on it.

I gotta be honest. I logged into my work email and the page was all sorts of fucked up, layout wise, in Firefox. That's the first "bug" I've found. I wonder what it is about my work email's website that makes the layout all funny?

Other than that, I haven't noticed an issue with FF and I've been using it since I got home.

And you aren't understanding me. I don't have any desire to research alternative products because my current product works just fine. I've never had a problem with IE. And last night when I thought I had a problem with IE, turns out it was just a problem with Facebook.

Cool, I never told you to switch. Continue being happy with IE.

Where do you check your email?

In regard to your PM, not researching your problem is pretty silly, too.

Basically, it's a shitty MS product made for shitty MS products.

See, here again....I don't care to research any problems I have with Firefox because I don't really care to use it.

I'm an IE girl. You're a FF guy. This relationship was doomed from the beginning.

I've used FF and IE over the years. I like IE's interface better than FF. I find IE easier to use. I don't care for all the plugins that FF has and i'm sick and tired of being asked to update them when I open a window. I prefer the way IE handles downloads/saving images. I've had zero issues with security with IE, especially considering I do automatic updates every morning. I've never had a virus or any malware problems. IE has pioneered a lot of the security features lately such as anti-phishing. I'd go more indepth but honestly who are we fooling? This is chit chat so it really doesn't matter. I'm set on IE, you're set on FF, we're just showing eachother our balls right now. Trust me my reasoning in using IE is based on several years of experience. This may be my last post in this thread not because i'm giving up but because i'll just start posting stupid shit that doesn't matter and i'd rather pad elsewhere.

Does firefox support activeX controls? No? well then, what's the point of using it if you need to access webpages and services that require activeX controls?

There's really no reason to use Firefox unless you're a web developer or don't use Windows.

Interestingly enough, the second you fall into either of those categories, you begin to hate everyone who uses IE.

The web browser world is a strange one.

When Microsoft makes its stuff open-sourced, I may return to them.

i'm willing to bet that it's OWA...
microsoft makes exchange... of COURSE they're gonna write their shit to only work with their browser. they made it a little bit better in exchange 2007, and they've supposedly made it so the full client (like it looks in IE) works in firefox in exchange 2010... but still.

it's all about standards compliance (or, in microsoft's case, lack thereof - i will admit that IE8 is a huge step forward, though). look at the acid tests if you'd like to see what i'm talking about.

because no one should use activex controls anymore.
