How come everyone was all about universal health care until Obama decided to bring it here?

^who the hell is "everybody"? I don't know anyone that is "for" it now or ever.

One of my co-workers is Canadian (and not just from Canada, still a citizen there). She said healthcare there is horrible.

Also, I'd like to reply to whoever made a comment about organic food. I got news for ya, its not "better" for you.

I know many therapists send their clients to tanning beds to reduce stress, depression and anxiety especially in far Northern areas that recieve little sunlight at times. There are pros and cons to everything.

People used to think cell phones and microwaves would give you cancer, but we all know that is not true today. This whole argument is based over one study that may or may not be accurate.

Also, like most things, a person's chance of getting a certain cancer is highly hereditary. I'm part Irish, German, Spanish and Cuban so I'm not sure where my skin cancer genes lie lol.

I can understand the relaxing part. The few times i've gone to a tanning bed I usually fall asleep within 2-3 minutes, lol.

^3 very few cancers are truly hereditary and I'm not sure skin cancer is one of them.. it may be where some people get it genetically but most develop it due to environmental factors

^ I didn't mean the cancer itself is hereditary. I meant a persons body and skin type is hereditary and makes some more apt to get skin cancer than others.

fuckin A, am i in chit chat or the soap box?

anyways, i think NCSUWolfy reads the economist because she has basically quoted a lot of things out of there. I'm not stating anything negative and actually find it cool that a girl reads the economist

all that aside i tanning beds are obviously much worse than going outside not only based on the amount of rays put off by the machine but for the simple truth that no one puts on sun screen before going to a tanning bed as they would outside.

regarding working/running/swimming outside and laying out to tan i believe the former to be the least negative. when laying out to tan you are focusing on particular parts of your body for a given period of time. when participating in activities outside you generally have a portion of your skin covered by clothing and natural blockers (water if swimming, trees if running, etc...).

seriously you went from sucking my dick begging to be friends to outright rage against me. way unstable. just accept the fact that i want nothing to do with you, ever. did you not understand that? well here i am saying it directly to you. go. away.

patrick on the other hand, he is a nice guy. things just didn't work out. its a shame he's lowered himself to making fun of me with you.

i'd call your fat ass every couple of months to see if you were okay seeing as how i crushed you (which i felt pretty bad about at first, but then i realized you pretty much deserved it so whatever)

if you want to turn that into "mike calls me all the time" then fine, it's just a last-ditch effort to save your ego after i cheated on you (who the fuck wouldn't?)

patrick, if you were offended that i removed you as a friend from facebook, i apologize for that. but i see what you're running with now and its my personal policy not to associate with people who associate with him. sry.

whatever it takes to prop up your fragile ego

like i said i felt pretty bad at first because it was a shitty thing to do, but it couldn't have been directed at a shittier person so i'm cool with it

hmm im a little skeptical of that tanning truth link

it talks about "base tans" which are questionable

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/tanning/AN00589

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/tanning/HQ01487

i feel like the tanning truth website is similar to the sweetsurprise.com website promoting HFCS

IMO going to a tanning bed is only a good idea if you're about to go to somewhere tropical and its the dead of winter so you're white. That way you don't get roasted while on vacation. I'm i'm just talking about a base tan, nothing more.

If you go consistently its pretty obvious and I don't think most people think that skin tone is attractive b/c you're tan in the middle of the winter

I've never compared someone who tans in a tanning bed to someone who tans out doors. Does the tan look any different? I bronze quite nicely in the summer time, but it's not like I'm about to go to a tanning bed in the winter to keep my skin tone. That seems silly (unless your job requires you to).

yeah I'm pretty skeptical about the tanning truths website too - considering I saw it posted AT the tanning place

I just wanted to get back on topic

no one knows I go to a tanning bed or asks me about it, so I assume they think it's from being outside (or maybe they think it's the way I normally look, who knows). I honestly like my tan BETTER from a bed than from the sun. plus I alternate between a regular bed and a bronzing bed, which helps it look more natural

haha then YES its def questionable

appreciate you getting us back on topic!

my skin burns very easily, even with a moderate spf and constant, liberal application. 2 hours is about my max time i can be in the sun, otherwise i need to be in the shade

tanning beds kind of terrify me

the key to the tanning bed is doing it slowly to get a tan...

i haven't been burnt in about 5 years because i finally figured out how to do it correctly...
