Ladd destroyed D'Agostini the other night...same thing, shoulder down and in, no takeoff, just caught a guy with his head down. I have no desire to see anyone get hurt, but it's a hitting game and hits to the head are legal if the puck is in the vicinity, you stay on your feet, and the use your shoulder.

It's questionable whether Ladd stayed on his feet. He definitely left the ice, it's just a matter of was it before the hit or a result of the hit.

Did anyone else happen to watch Minnesota beat Pittsburgh yesterday? They looked really fucking good, especially Backstrom in goal. They just beat Colorado as well, maybe they finally adjusted from trap to forecheck? Regardless, I think they are gonna end up doing really well this season, even maybe make the playoffs?

The Wild have traditionally been my Western Conference team, but after Gaborik left (my favorite player) I am not sure if that is still the case. I've been to a game there, and it's a great time; incredible venue. Their fans are really subdued, though; for selling out every game they sure are quiet.

Anyway, I don't think they are going anywhere this season. Sure fire lottery pick IMO. They don't have the guns to compete, and it's beginning to look like Benoit Pouliot (4th overall 2005) and James Sheppard (9th overall 2006) are major busts.
