i thought the episode sucked. well first off i have never watched glee before until the britney episode. i knew the premise and maybe because i haven't seen previous episodes, that's why i was underwhelmed. i really thought they would do more with the britney songs than what they really did - centering everything around a dentist's appointment was kind of dumb in my opinion and then ending the episode with a haylie williams song was just kind of blah. i thought they would go all out in some big song and dance as the last song of the episode.

you do realize that they actually have a plot right? it's not just an hour of songs and nothing else

^^ Don't worry about it too much; it's not for everyone. I've probably seen 5 episodes or so in total between friends' places and then because my wife's friends told her to watch it and she watched a few at home. In the end, we both disliked the show after several tries. I disliked it much more than her though.

Overall I thought the show pretty much sucked during my viewings, but I understand quite a few people don't share that same opinion here.

^^^ It was disappointing that for three of the songs they didn't do much more than recreate the music videos, but it was streets ahead of the Madonna episode.

I can't think, offhand, of a time when they've had a really big performance to end the show. It's generally big performance and then "wrap-up song" afterwards.

There have been some big finishes but its not frequent. I am kind of getting sick of closing with a solo performance...the wrap-up song idea has gotten too cliche and sappy.

The only really good part of this episode was Santana telling John Stamos he could drill her.

We also learned that Rachel can't dance lol.

rachel's bangs are getting on my nerves, but thank god brittany's not doing that stupid swoopy bang thing anymore. i fucking hate bangs.

amen. it was almost painful to watch her perform after brittany's AMAZING dancing. clearly she's the only real dancer of the cast, which is fine considering it's more about singing really.

i really liked the episode but - 1) i was annoyed they ended with a non-britney song 2) not enough of the glee clubbers were involved in all the performances & 3) it was not as awesome as the madonna episode

I haven't watched Glee since like episode #2, but I just watched the last episode because it was just too pop culture and I wanted to see what the big deal was.

There aren't words to describe how horrific this show is.

It's like in porn where they have a "plot", but really they're just trying to hurry you up to the next sex scene. Only on this show, instead of getting to watch people fuck in between the 4 minutes of bad acting, you have to endure watching a bunch of talentless ugly people recreate/mangle Britney Spears videos.

I don't know how you people watch this shit on a weekly basis.

3^ i think she was on so you think you can dance a few years ago and then became a backup dancer for beyonce

I didn't remember her from sytycd, so I looked it up...she didn't make top 20 but did go on to be a backup dancer for beyonce. In other words, to you Nigel Lithgoe! Regardless, always was a fan but daaaaaayum. She rocks.

Yeah i've seen every season but the first one. She was eliminated early wasn't she?

And coolest big girls when you were 8? My god i now feel old as she can't be older than me... how old are you again?

haha i'm pretty sure she was only 3 or so years older than me... but 12&under were "juniors" so by the time i was in competitions she was a "senior" and they all seemed old to me

yeah, i think she was eliminated early. i never got into it because i really just don't like a lot of reminders of my dancing days (long story, sort of). also my coworker talks about it all the time and i find it so incredibly obnoxious i have no interest in watching

Ahhhh gotcha. No biggie that you don't watch it; I watch plenty of shit people don't, but I also don't watch a lot of shit people do sytycd is the only competition show I watch though...so that counts for something (hopefully)

This new season isn't doing it as much for me. It seems like theres more singing than last season, and less fun and plots.

it feels like they are finding any excuse they can to sing a song, and to hell with having any plot at all beyond "you're my boyfriend, i love you!"

seriously

two or three well-executed songs/ideas > five short song clips cobbled together very loosely

This episode had a lot more of the same, but I LOVED the victor/victoria part. Those big production numbers have been missing big time. And they still managed to have a cheesy wrap up song at the end of the episode...though i must admit i liked this one better than most.

I'm still confused how a team that came in 3rd at regionals one year is considering itself a national contender the next.

I had a good feeling they were going to have a tie for sectionals...there is too much of an investment in the other school for them to drop off the show. So either they were both going to regionals or Kurt was going to come back (which he probably still will before the end of the season).

Of all three "half seasons" they have had so far, that was the worst transition into a wrap up song they have done thus far.

If we shadows have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumber'd here
While these visions did appear.
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding but a dream,
Gentles, do not reprehend:
if you pardon, we will mend:
And, as I am an honest Puck,
If we have unearned luck
Now to 'scape the serpent's tongue,
We will make amends ere long;
Else the Puck a liar call;
So, good night unto you all.
Give me your hands, if we be friends,
And Robin shall restore amends.
