2002 Duke game. Was insane. The play in the picture was an offsides by Duke and Phil hiked it and J-Co knew to head toward the endzone automatically.

That's the game they were lined up for a 60 yard fg at the end.

2008: Win: 27 - 17. Duke was 4-4 going in, they lost out the rest of their season. 2008 was the first year Duke got a conference win since 11/13/2004.

2003: Win: 28 - 21. Duke was 2-5 going in.

2002: Win: 24 - 22. Duke was 2-5 going in. This was that game where they attempted a 60+ yard field goal FTW. We were in danger of becoming their first conference win since 11/13/1999 (don't play a conference game against Duke on 11/13).

2001: Win: 55 - 31. Duke was 0-8 going in. They lost every game that season. The average point spread for Duke that season was -25 points.

2000: Win: 35 - 31. Duke was 0-9 going in. They lost every game that season as well. Again their average point spread was -25 points that season. We beat them by 4.

Other useless stuff:
You have to go back to 1999 for a Duke conference win in October. Of course that isn't saying much considering all the winless seasons and winless in the conference seasons they've had over the past decade.

We have not lost to Duke since 1993.

In our last 10 matchups our average point spread is 11 points.

I think Duke's performance against VT is meaningless, they didn't come out with a win so the score doesn't matter as far as I'm concerned. Top 10 teams get scares from mediocre teams all the time, and rarely does it have any significance.
