I am excited because I've been wanting to go there really bad the last couple weeks. However I did just learn there's one 6 miles from my house when I thought they were all further away. This could be bad.

I saw it and thought about it... but I was so utterly unimpressed with the soft corn tortillas they use (either hard corn or soft flour - get it right!), that I have had no desire to go back

I think you're the only person I've talked to who doesn't love Chubby's. Try a burrito. I think they are on flour tortillas, and they are awesome too.

You know, if you want. Not trying to be like "you MUST LIKE IT" but don't want you to miss out on a great place because of one thing you didn't like.

you buy the deal, take 1 other person, and the $15 will cover both. say u both get two tacos $4-$6, and you both make it a meal (rice, beans and drink) for another $2 each, that's $15. i don't care how you work the financials with the other party

more like I'm basing my mexican offerings off of the fact that the only corn shells/wraps I like are crunchy (because of the texture). If you want a soft wrap, put it in something made from flour or let it be. I think soft corn tortillas taste like (and have the consistency of) wet napkins


and yes, I've had "real mexican"- does that mean I'm am now entitled to my opinion?

for the price of the tacos, yes I do- I've had much better tacos at other places- hell, armadillo grill's tacos blow this place out of the water IMO


As do the taco truck that used to sit at lake wheeler and tryon


and the only reason I put "real mexican" in quotations is because you actually tried to use that as an argument against my opinion. I lived in California for 2 summers- it was not hard to find.

the only reason why you think they BLOW THEM OUT OF THE WATER is because they use a flour tortilla. it's not that armadillo's is better, or that chubbys does it wrong (as you asserted in your first post), you just don't like that style of tortilla.

If you use the Groupon for a $5 burritto, you forfeit the remaning balance. If you have nobody else to go with, why don't you just get an extra burrito and save it for dinner or something?

I'll agree their tacos aren't the best in Raleigh, but they are damn tasty. The main reason I go there though is for the horchata And it's next door to the place I buy my pet food so it makes for a convenient pit stop.

I'm with you on that. While I love most of their other offerings, their burritos actually look pretty gross to me (at least the ones off lake boone). the flour is way to thick for me

i wish it was like $4 for $8 worth of food. that is more my style. otherwise i'd have to take like 3 friends. i guess i could always get leftovers but...i don't know about that.

and i usually only get 2 tacos and don't make it a meal because that is enough for me. i usually eat there for < $5.

even if i went with ONE other person our total would be like $10 - $12. so yea. i guess adding drinks is the way to get it to $16.

and usually i get black bean tacos

WHAT SOMETIMES I ONLY EAT VEGETARIAN FOOD. and they are delicious. and really freaking cheap.
