I've almost lost all hope with NC State football. I don't think I've ever gone from being so high to start a season to so low at the end.

A win over UNC won't cure that, but it'd be a hell of a lot better than losing. It would give the players something to feel decent about going into the offseason. Plus, it would give us fans the satisfaction of knowing that NC State football at it's worst can still beat UNC.

If we win Saturday, get Russell back for one more year, then replace Archer with someone seemingly compentent (hell ... replace him with anybody at this point), my hope for NC State football will be somewhat restored.

I'm putting all hope and optimism for the program on indefinite hiatus until we actually accomplish something other than a 4-game winning streak against the state's other mediocre teams.

i take it you guys don't remember River's senior season. We were the only team in the country to return a 3000 yard passer, a 1000 yard rusher (T.A.) and a 1000 yard receiver (Cotchery). We finished the last season ranked number 11 in the country.

I remember the Technician had this comic book styled cover with Amato, Rivers, Cotchery, and McClendon on it. There really was national championship talk from big media outlets, not State homers. Then we go a finish 8-5.

I tried like hell to find that cover (I've got many copies at my parent's home back in NC) but I couldn't get it online... but seriously, that was the most disappointing season for NCSU I can recall...

We have nothing to hold back. This is our bowl game. We need to take out some pent up frustration. Their offense is dumb, and they score all their points off turnovers.

Game plan should be to injure their QB and don't fumble the fucking ball within the first 5 plays (or any of the plays, for that matter).

I hate UNC so much that I go out of my way to cover up UNC apparel and books when I'm out shopping. In fact I was at a Sam's Club in Charlotte today and covered up like 5 different books of theirs. I'm also an equal opportunity hater as I covered up a Duke book as well. I know it won't make a big impact, but I like to think that I kept $50 from going into their school.
