I don't really want to get flamed, but am I the only one that thought we looked bad? The way we played at the end of the first half was pretty pitiful. Any win is a good win and all but it's still pretty obvious that everyone's expectations of us will be realized this year.

Projecting this to ACC play, we did look pretty bad. It's good that several guys are hitting shots for us, because shooting always gives you a chance to win. We at least appeared to care about defense in the second half, but acc guards and forwards should be able to drive on us. We did not recover well on the weak side, at all. Guys would blow by their man, the inside player would have to step up, the driver just made an easy pass to the guy left unguarded. No one attempted to rotate down and defend that obvious pass.

Smith is going to need help down low from horner or howell. Howell is really raw, and Horner doesn't want to handle contact. The ideal would be for Horner, as a senior, to be play back to the basket, face up, or get open on the perimeter. He's only doing one of those, right now. He is making unexpected hustle plays, though. So that counts for something.

When they double down on tracy from the weakside post, Horner or someone else going to have to make themselves available to punish them. I don't see who is doing that for us, right now.

^spot on. also i'd like to see us swing the ball harder to find the open man for the three when they double down on tracy. doesn't seem like we are taking advantage of the fact that they are double and triple teaming tracy every time he gets the ball in the post.

It's ridiculous that we get out rebounded by these teams. I love that we're winning, but this has been a consistent problem with Lowe's teams.

And yeah, Josh Davis is awesome. He's always moving for the ball while others are standing around waiting for something to happen.

I think we are an okay team.

The rebounding has actually been decent this season, if you look at some of the games in the GWC. The effort seems to be greater this year.

The defense has been pretty impressive. They were hustling their asses off in the second half yesterday.

We are going to miss the scoring of the 3 who left last year, but I think overall this is a more together team. But having Dennis Horner as our leading scorer so far isn't the most encouraging thing ever.

I think, though, that we'll be proud of this team this year with how hard they play. Maybe we can win 6 or 7 in the ACC. I definitely don't think we'll be bringing up the rear this year.

^Our offense sucked last year too even with the Big 3. It was not until we got about a third of the way into ACC play that we actually started scoring in the 70's consistently. I'm just hoping we can put it all together eventually.

I think our defense is much better than it was last year. The final score really doesn't reflect the game at all. UNO hit 3 3's near the end of the game. I think a lot of it has to do with Wood and Davis.

horner looks so much better this year it isn't even funny. i'm not saying he's all ACC or anything but he has improved considerably. i don't think i've seen a single pump fake.
