Reyes will be back Saturday. Just temporary w/ Cora. They wanted to split up Wright/Bay for some odd reason. Jacobs blows and he'll be gone in like two weeks when Murphy gets back. Hopefully by July, Ike Davis will be at 1B.

^ I read something a few weeks ago saying that Smoltz hasn't actually retired -- he's doing broadcasting work, but he's still working out in case he gets a call. But, yeah, he's done.
And to answer my own question, PTV is channel 194 on TWC in the triad.

Glaus is looking putrid, hope the braves can pick up a legit first baseman sometime this year.
where do people think heyward is going to end up in the lineup? behind mccann? 4/8/2010 9:18:13 AM |
rflong All American 11472 Posts user info edit post |
^ Definitely seems like Glaus is lost in the first two games, but it is only the first two games. He can't catch up to the high fastball anymore, but hopefully he start being more patient and maybe can get on base with walks, etc. He's always been a high OBP guy. Plus the Braves could always experiment with Diaz at 1B.
I'd hate to see the Braves trade away any young talent for a 1B when they have Freeman only 1 to 1.5 seasons away. 4/8/2010 9:44:12 AM |
BJCaudill21 Not an alcoholic 8015 Posts user info edit post |
They could always move Prado to 1st, let Infante start at 2B, and keep Glaus as the backup 1B/3B for when they need a break. That wouldn't give them very much power but if Glaus isn't any good anyways then what does it matter. 4/8/2010 9:47:58 AM |
rflong All American 11472 Posts user info edit post |
^ Yeah I was thinking that too. Has Infante ever played 1B? Prado would probably prefer to stay at 2B. I like Diaz in the lineup especially (and obviously) against lefties.
I wonder if/when Schaeffer gets healthy and suppose he starts to tear it up in AAA, would the Braves bring him up and go with an OF of Heyward, Schaeffer, and McLouth/Cabrera. I wonder if Cabrera can play 1B?
