I read in TV Guide that John Cena won the role.
10/5/2010 2:13:38 PM
Sam Worthington considers himself a blockbuster movie star. He would never go for this.
10/5/2010 2:39:33 PM
^^ That would suck, John Cena looks too much like Crixxus.
10/5/2010 3:30:50 PM
i second sam worthingtonpossibly tom hardy

I'm the new Spartacus, bitches. Kinda like when the Ultimate Warrior died and they found a new Ultimate Warrior to take the old Ultimate Warrior's place. You got a problem with that?[Edited on October 5, 2010 at 9:54 PM. Reason : ]

well considering the casting call requires a natural born british accent I think we can rest easy that John Cena will not be Spartacus.
10/6/2010 7:51:26 AM
naturally, since all Romans speak with a British accent.what a retarded thing to require.
10/6/2010 10:34:30 AM

10/6/2010 10:41:52 AM
just started watching this show...pretty damn goodand so...many...boobies
10/6/2010 3:44:41 PM
it literally gets better every single episode
10/6/2010 4:23:17 PM
True. I thought it was kinda hokey when I first started watching it. But the it becomes legendary by the finale.
10/7/2010 8:35:48 AM
the first thing i noticed was "darken rahl" from "legend of the seeker" second was that episode 1 was kind of hokey (but then again, i watched "legend of the seeker" so obviously i have no problem watching hokey tv, hah)...now that i'm on episode 5 i can honestly say that it's really goodsometimes the blood effects are pointless...not in an i-don't-like-gratuitous-violence kind of way, but in a that's-not-realistic-at-all kind of way...i think they've refined it with each episode, though, so it bothers me less than it didjust catching up with the thread, i'm all that whitfield is being replaced, but i'd rather give a chance to a new spartacus in season 2 rather than see is dumped altogetherlooks like jaime murray (lila from season 2 of dexter) will be in the prequel (spartacus: gods of the arena)
10/7/2010 9:47:01 AM
season 1 wraps so perfectly that I wouldn't be upset if the show stopped. By the end they were hitting everything in full stride. I just remember being jaw-dropped the entire finale. I can understand new viewers not minding AW being replaced since they are knowing about it going in. For me it's been a waiting game and watching him battle back from cancer and the show coming off hiatus only to see it all unfold again. So it kinda bums me out. I just hope they don't rush finding a new actor and find someone who can keep up the intensity
10/7/2010 9:54:45 AM
okay, just finished the 13th episodeholy crap, that was awesome...i could see it end here...i don't want it to, though
10/11/2010 12:59:05 PM
they could do a lot with a prequel type thing. would like to see crixis climb the latter.
10/11/2010 2:33:39 PM
why? Crixus sucks
10/11/2010 2:36:06 PM
Yeah, Crixus starting getting cool only after he was knocked down a few pegs. A prequel featuring his rise would suck.
10/11/2010 3:02:43 PM
I want it to be about Doctore's background.
10/11/2010 3:07:18 PM
Have it be about Lucretia and how she spent her early years as a a warrior in a quest to seek redemption for her past sins as a ruthless warlord by using her formidable fighting skills to help people.
10/11/2010 3:17:04 PM
They finally put this back onto Starz on demand (in HD no less!)I can finally finish up the season now. I am on episode 8 right now. It is going to be weird to see the new season without whitfield playing the title character. When does that start back (I didn't want to read through this tread for fear of spoilers)
12/23/2010 11:22:29 AM
It isn't as far as I still know. They are having a 6 episode prequel season or something soon. But they were still deciding whether to recast Spartacus or just drop the entire franchise all together.
12/23/2010 11:24:43 AM
Just watched this series in like 3 days....holy crap.
1/2/2011 11:00:08 AM
gods of the arena (blood and sand prequel) starts january 21with camelot premiering on april 1st, i wouldn't be surprised if they scrap blood and sand altogether
1/3/2011 7:10:20 AM
1/17/2011 5:02:07 PM
I can see it, but I don't think I'll forget Whitfield. I'm sure after the first couple eps of season 2 though I'll make the adjustment.
1/18/2011 12:14:35 AM
I already forgot what the first guy looked like
1/18/2011 12:29:55 AM
I don't know how I feel about this re-cast either. I don't want to forget Whitfield as the title role, but I, too, will probably adjust a few episodes into the next season because I want to love this show regardless.
1/18/2011 7:48:27 AM
^^^I've watched the entire series of The Pacific and that guy doesn't look familiar to me at all. What character did he play in that mini-series?
1/18/2011 9:09:23 AM
^ According to IMDB he played Lew in the episode called "Iwo Jima." But I agree, I've seen The Pacific too and didn't recognize the actor's name or face.
1/18/2011 8:25:06 PM
The pacific was boring and most of the characters were generic, so taht's understandable.
1/18/2011 9:05:58 PM
^ this too. It was no Band of Brothers by a long shot.
1/18/2011 9:35:11 PM
I'm glad to hear that they finally re-cast Spartacus, and didn't cancel altogether. They had me worried there for a little while. I'm also glad that they didn't pick that dude from Prison Break. I will watch the prequel, but it's a shame that we have to wait so long for season 2.[Edited on January 18, 2011 at 9:57 PM. Reason : 2]
1/18/2011 9:56:44 PM
So I watched the first episode on netflix and cut it off 10 minutes in. One of my friends loves this show and told me to try it again. Does the dialogue and shitty acting ever improve? I'm assuming the story just gets really good so you look past it. Do you think I will like episode 2 better?Gratutious sex scenes kinda got old after internet pr0n.
1/19/2011 10:37:48 AM
1/19/2011 10:40:02 AM
the show improves dramatically after the first 3-4 episodes.
1/19/2011 1:20:30 PM
Don't kid yourselves. This show is about violence and tits. It's the less classy version of Rome
1/20/2011 9:29:27 PM
Good episode. My cock rages on, my cock rages on.....
1/22/2011 9:18:35 AM

1/22/2011 12:08:31 PM

1/22/2011 3:02:25 PM
words fall from your mouth......as shit from ass
1/23/2011 10:51:55 PM
this show is still awesome. they didn't miss a beat.
1/24/2011 8:08:34 AM
Amazing what some makeup and a facelift can do for actors these days. Batiatus, Lucretia, Ashur, Crixus, Solonius and the like all looked several years younger.
1/25/2011 1:29:09 AM
first episode of the new show was fucking awesome,
1/25/2011 2:08:44 AM
Batiatus got that ass whooped. Not going to lie, but the show made me interested enough to go and read the Wiki on Spartacus. Interesting to hear some of the related stories and see how far out they go past the revolt.
1/27/2011 2:19:47 PM
I loved Rome and Spartacus:blood and sand; after the 1st episode of the prequel, I just want more now.Best line is still "Jupiter's Cock".
1/27/2011 3:28:23 PM
Another amazing episode.
1/29/2011 10:45:19 AM
That may be my favorite episode of the series.I guess Crixus's undefeated streak doesn't stretch to before he was officially a gladiator haha.]
1/29/2011 1:23:12 PM
They know what their audience wants based on the warning at the beginning:vulgar languageviolencesex
1/30/2011 10:55:40 PM
and another bad ass episode.
1/30/2011 11:41:05 PM
First episode ends in lesbians, second in a threesome, whats next?
