I was just looking at some minor league numbers and man, is Ike Davis scary good. He was amazing the second half of last year in AA. He was amazing in the AFL. He was amazing in the Spring. And now, in his first five games, he is getting on base 6 of every 10 PAs and has 2 jacks already. Most impressive for a power guy is that he has drawn 6 walks and only 3 strikeouts.

He is really pushing the Mets to hand him the full-time job and soon at first base. Murph be damned.

Blame the ignoramus running the team for even having him up in the bigs instead of starting in AA/AAA.

Also, the one bright spot is Big Pelf looks like 2008 Pelfrey and not 2009 Pelfrey.

I don't know if you watched it, but he was on target.

By FAR, the best start of the year. Put Johan's opening day to shame. He very well could be our ace by June. That new sinker is simply unhittable and he works his slider in the zone early. Great start.

Maybe he should take Ollie and Maine for a brief jog.

^^ Every year? He's only had two full seasons -- one very good (18th in ERA in the NL) and one bad. It's not like he is an eight year vet.

He looks really good. Not just the pitching but he has an entire new attitude.
